(Hour 1 with Cook and Joe with Bob Pompeani)
The Steelers play today after the NFL and the State of New York postponed their game from Sunday to today at 4:30. A heated discussion happens between Cook, Joe, and Bob Pompeani on whether or not the game should have been played in the conditions that we saw in Buffalo. Bob politely asks to restart the show. The guys then get into if the Steelers have a chance. Bob says all of the pressure is on Buffalo. Cook and Joe agree that there is enormous pressure on the Bills. Joe uses the Dallas Cowboys as a comparison to the Bills. The Cowboys had all the pressure and crumbled. Even though Bob took the Steelers, Cook and Joe both predict the Bills will win.
The Bills are where everyone thought they would be at this moment. The Steelers did not have the same expectations as the Bills did. Which would mean that the Steelers are playing with "house money" theoretically. Joe's biggest fear today is that Mason Rudolph will turn into a pumpkin. With how bad Joe Flacco did over the weekend, that thought crept into Cook and Joe's minds. We open the phone lines to a few callers who give their thoughts on the game today.
(Hour 2 with Cook and Joe with Bob Pompeani)
The Penguins moved their game to 1pm, however they told fans there are no refunds or exchanging of tickets which hurts fans who planned their evening around the game. The guys say they should have at least offered a ticket exchange. Joe proposes that the Penguins should have probably kept puck drop at the same time. They are officially at the half-way point of the season and they sit out of a playoff spot. We then reopen the phone lines to listeners who give us their predictions for the game.
Are open roof stadiums still appealing in today's NFL? Would the NFL and teams be better off if every team had a dome? While it is not realistic for every team to have a dome, Joe says that it is not necessary. The sloppy games are still appealing to him while Ron says football is better played in perfect conditions.
(Hour 3 with Cook and Joe with Bob Pompeani)
The guys give their top 10 quarterbacks right now in the league. All of them have Trevor Lawrence and Dak Prescott off of their top 10. They then give a quick recap of the games over the past weekend. Flacco Magic ran out and the Browns are back to square one. The Houston Texans and CJ Stroud have taken the NFL world by storm. Matt Stafford still has a lot left in the tank.
The guys go over their predictions for the game against the Bills. Jeff Hathorne hops on to give us a quick update on the condition of the field and stadium in Orchard Park. Jeff says it seems about 50% clear. They have been telling people in the stadium they may have to stand and not sit in their seats. The guys also give a quick over/under for some of the players in this game.
