When we meditate we are observing ourselves. Our observation depends on how we are looking at ourselves. Here we touch on the important attitudes that benefit your meditations to get your mind right to observe.
Meditation is meant to transform your whole life experience. It is a way for you to learn new ways to receive and understand sensations, your emotions and dealing with conscious thoughts.
Mindfulness is more important that concentration. The more you develop your noticing factor of mindfulness, you will notice the distraction and you will pull out of it and return yourself back to the object of your attention.
Concentrating requires mindfulness for you to have a perspective on yourself. Development of concentration will be blocked by some mental states which are called the 5 hindrances in Buddhism.
A mirror thought in the present time. Awareness of the now can make you free to notice whatever comes up if you accept it without criticism. Mindfulness reminds us of what we are supposed to be doing.
We put our attention on the breath when we meditate, but inevitably any pre-occupation pulls the attention off the breath. This is the distraction. Patience is the key. Distractions go away if we don’t feed them.
Meditation is tough and requires energy. Helping succeed remind yourself with an intention for yourself and for others. Make your own affirmation or follow us through the kindness exercise.
