What does it mean to expand your perspective?
We have suppressed our energy and lost our wild spirits. To be wild is to allow for the freedom of expression of energy through you. When we expand our perspective, we recognize that everything we need is available to us right now. We need to come back to this level of understanding, stay grounded in ourselves, and move forward.
In this episode, Dr. Jamal talks to Director Alex Liu about connection, expanding our perspective, and the importance of overcoming the belief deficiency.

We will always see evidence of what we believe in the most, especially our unconscious beliefs. Annelise has found that working with plant medicine and energy practices can facilitate the space to connect directly to the central nervous system. It gives you an opportunity to connect to your energetic circuit and your unconscious mind.
In this episode, Dr. Jamal talks to Annelise about plant medicine, healing, reality, beliefs, and the power we have to harness these incredible tools and change our lives. Annelise is a healing facilitator and energetic practitioner who has been helping people soften in the integration of the chaos of life.

With this increased awareness… how are our cells transmuting this into something that is in alignment with our intention and how we want to live our lives? (13:35)
Thoughts are energy. If you can modulate - or bring in higher level concepts and a deeper connection to God - you are fundamentally expanding your neurology. (15:43)
We will always see evidence of what we believe in the most, especially our unconscious beliefs. (16:10)
Health is a continuum - you aren’t just ‘healthy’ or ‘unhealthy’. (18:45)
Our evolution began working in collaboration with psychedelic medicine. It gives us higher level ideas, higher level concepts. (22:36)
It’s time. We have to change collectively as a society, as human beings. We have to evolve and come back into resonance with our bodies. (23:20)

At the end of the day, it’s not what you’re doing, it's how you’re doing it, that’s cultivating a space of service or not. (29:42)
What you do for yourself you make possible for the world around you. (32:05)
External technology has increased the speed in which we can move and the access to information… Plant medicine is nature’s technology. (32:52)
Technology is something outside of yourself that produces information so you can learn. (35:10)
Change happens on an unconscious level. (41:30)
Only those that choose to believe in the miracle of life will experience the miracle of life. (43:25)
This level of knowledge, wisdom, and application is a reward to believing. Who decides if you are worthy of it? You. (43:56)

“It is a true treasure and great requirement to know thyself, in all ways, in and out.” -Jó
About Jordynn (Jó) Millicent:
Jó is a heart-centered advisor, licensed independent clinical social worker associate, gestalt therapy practitioner, and holds several degrees. She is also a Shaman, and has a powerful aptitude to navigate this life and help others do the same.
In this episode Dr. Jamal and Jó discuss what it means to be up against a wall, the power of choosing to live, and the importance of truly breathing.
To be a Shaman means to be a wounded healer. Isn’t that how and why we got into this field? (03:17)
As healers we are feeling pressed against the wall - our faith is being tested, our love is being questioned, our integrity is in the spotlight. (05:00)
When we expose what is, we are the revelation for someone. (06:20)
Send that text. Make that call. At the end of the day, if they don’t respond, you know you gave it your best effort. (13:00)
A lot of people have forgotten that we’re supposed to heal, which keeps a lot of people stuck. (14:52)
Listen in as Jó walks us through a practice in core energetics: All of us get tripped up in our emotions and instances of the day. If you are feeling anxious, angry, depressed, undecided… BREATHE. (16:50)
It is a true treasure and great requirement to know thyself, in all ways, in and out. (22:42)
Honest leadership starts with yourself: Is this for me? Is this where I need to be right now? (23:38)
God is saying: You may be up against a wall, but I will blow that wall down. You just gotta believe. (27:45)
Negative emotions are just a perception painted by common society. (28:30)
Potent nuggets:
> As you heal, I heal. As I heal, you heal.
> Stop treating yourself as a second-class citizen. You deserve more.
> The world needs honest leadership.
> Dare to live. Dare to be free.
> To breathe is an act of faith.
> You can’t know the cure unless you know the ailment.

“You can only love another to the degree that you love and understand yourself.” -Damodar
About Damodar Cordua:
Damodar is the co-owner of Bhava Wellness in Tucson, AZ. He holds years of experience in mentorship, coaching and teaching and specializes in relationship, life, communication, and empowerment coaching.
In this episode Dr. Jamal and Damodar discuss attachment styles and how they impact people into adulthood. They also discuss the power of relationships, how to reconnect when things get off track, and the value of choosing your relationship daily. You’ll also discover an incredible football analogy woven throughout the episode which helps clarify some of the concepts they discuss.
The quality of our relationships dictate the quality and longevity of our lives. (02:09)
Partnership is a path to growth and self-awareness. Once you get partnered up, you have an opportunity to realize unconscious patterns in your behavior and learn how to navigate them. (06:47)
How can the evaluation of our attachment style be understood in a way to get the most out of your relationship? (07:40)
Our partner becomes a mirror, which gives us an opportunity to see it, gain some tools, and create new (healthy) patterns. (09:40)
Is your relationship a source of strength? (13:10)
Healthy relationships involve a dance between being separate and being connected. We are called forward to stand for ourselves as an individual, see your partner as their own person, and see the relationship as a third entity. (14:50)
Are you and your partner just two people on parallel tracks? Are you missing depth in your relationship? (16:07)
If you are overly enmeshed in a relationship, it’s time to start learning how to own your own experience. (18:40)
To get really intimate with someone requires you to hold space for their differences. (22:20)
Conflict is a space, if done consciously, that can bring us to deeper connection and deeper intimacy. (22:57)
The reframe is: This time with my loved one is my deepest resource, and this is what life is about. (36:00)
Remember: You and your partner are on the same team. (38:20)
All relationships are resources. If we can hold space for each other, we can have a lot more grace for each other. (40:38)
You can only love another to the degree that you love and understand yourself. (44:10)
You are already whole, just as you are right now. (45:00)
Potent nuggets:
> Become a student of your partner.
> What is your goal as a partnership?
> Life is about the magic of connecting.
> Co-regulation between partners is soothing and reconnection.
> There are no mistakes in nature.
> Love is not something to be found; it just is.

“There is wisdom in your attention. As soon as you start paying attention, you can make a change.” -MaryAnn
“When you take care of yourself, it permeates to the others around you.” -Dr. Jamal
About MaryAnn
MaryAnn resides in Canada and has recently transitioned from being an RN working in a hospital to a personal trainer. She recently received her certification to become an Integrative Health Practitioner. MaryAnn is helping people get to the root cause of their symptoms and increase awareness of what is happening in their bodies.
In this episode Dr. Jamal and MaryAnn discuss how to create space and connect with yourself, and how that allows you to think critically, reflect, and apply what you learn.
The key for healthcare providers to navigate outside of the sickcare system is to first identify that you are no longer in alignment with that system. (02:40)
To some people, the concept of “do the work” might seem cutesy or mystical rather than tangible. What does it look like to evaluate this and actually “do the work”? (07:02)
It is important to know the routines and rituals that nourish you, so you can connect with yourself. Self-connection is massively important! (08:04)
In order to shift your health and manifest the things you want, you have to manage your focus and manage your energy. Rituals allow you to create space to critically think, reflect, and apply without distraction. (10:16)
We can look at our patients and tell them exactly what’s wrong and what they should do to fix it. But can we do that for ourselves? (15:15)
There is wisdom in your attention. As soon as you start paying attention, you can make a change. What is the story of your struggle? Is it true? (21:26)
How does one go about writing a lifestyle prescription for themselves? (25:38)
What the f*ck is the point of “just getting through”? -Dr. J
If you’re not in reflection and awareness of your mind, your body is moving without intention. (40:15)
What would your work look like if it looked exactly the way you wanted it to? (44:50)
When you take care of yourself, it permeates horizontally and vertically. (47:30)
Potent nuggets:
> Self-reflection starts with small self check-ins.
> The body makes no mistakes. We make the mistake of ignoring the body.
> Integration is the “catching up” of the mind and body. Integration is seen by a shift in behavior.
> Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.

“The modern world wants to confuse you, because it wants to tell you what to do and have you obey.” -Ray Scott Hillsman
“I am conscious therefore I experience reality.”
It’s time to become conscious and more aware to create the future we want to live in.

In this episode Dr. Jamal and Scott discuss applying ancient philosophical principles to our modern lives. They cover important topics like the unnecessary complexities of life, nihilism, consciousness, awareness, and confusion and control. There is a great deal of power we can tap into if we look at a broader picture of human beings over time. They also answer these questions:
2:10 Why is there such a struggle to get through day-to-day life as a healthcare professional? Why are people facing such burnout?
6:24 Do you check your phone first thing in the morning, spend your whole day distracted, and then crash at night? Why do we do this?
9:08 Is there truth to the saying “No pain, no gain”?
12:55 Why do the power structures of the modern world want to break people’s wills and confuse people?
18:50 What is the main way people’s willpower is broken?
21:28 Why do we need to rethink the phrase “that’s the way it’s always been done”?
24:40 What is the basic human need that comes before Maslow’s hierarchy of needs?
27:30 What is the KEY to overcoming fear and anxiety?
34:03 What is the most important thing for me today? (What’s most important to you is a reflection of your needs.)
37:30 What philosophy has become a poison interjected into our modern world?
39:45 What happens when people don’t pursue meaningful things in their life?
44:15 What do you need to remove from your life today?
47:43 What does “real” mean to you? Have you ever thought about what “reality” is?
53:49 How could there be any lack of purpose or meaning in a world where nature works in such beautiful and magnificent ways?
Pithy Takeaways:
> A human being who is confused is more open to being told what to do.
> Goals are the oxygen to your dreams.
> One of the keystones to happiness is progress.
> Small goals give momentum to big goals.
> If you want to get in touch with reality, get in touch with your experiences.
