Join me in The Red Treehouse as I read you a classic horror short story--The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell.

First published in 1924, The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell, has been called “the most popular short story ever written in English.” This classic story introduces us to a big-game hunter who reaches what appears to be a deserted island. Except, it isn’t—and eventually, he finds himself squarely in the crosshairs as the big-game hunter becomes the hunted.

Now, 100 years old, this classic story has been adapted many times—and has the distinction of possibly being referenced by the infamous Zodiac Killer who terrorized California in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

So, sit back, turn down the lights, pull up the covers, and pay close attention as I read The Most Dangerous Game.

Join me in The Red Treehouse as we explore an the alleged haunting of an iconic American landmark--the White House. Constructed in 1792, the White House stands as the icon of Washington, D.C. in a city filled with statues, monuments, and memorials. 46 presidents have called the sprawling grounds home--and with a 225-year history, it makes good sense visitors from all over the world have claimed it to be haunted.

Is the White House truly haunted? And if so, which spirits stalk the hallways and rooms of America’s most famous home?

Join me in The Red Treehouse as we explore a tragic--and eerie--story, The Bosco Murders. In 1993, John and Nancy Bosco were found murdered in their home in Ferndale, Montana—they’d been shot to death while they slept in their beds. In some ways, there’s nothing extraordinary about this tragedy.

Except, John’s mother, Toni, had a nightmare that something awful was going to happen to her son. And, after the murders were committed, and the trail went cold, police brought in a psychic—who may have helped solve the case. And, if that wasn’t enough, the murderer claimed to have been haunted by a recurring nightmare—that prophesied what he was going to do months before he did it.

Is it possible for human beings to tell the future? Is it possible to tap into some unseen force that allows us to know things are going to happen before they do? Could the murders of John and Nancy Bosco have been prevented?

Join me in The Red Treehouse as I read you a classic horror short story--The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. First published in 1886, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, is inarguably one of the most famous gothic horror stories of all-time. An absolute classic, the story’s influence endures today, nearly 140 years later; and its antagonist/protagonist, Jekyll and Hyde, is still used in reference to people who have “an outwardly good but sometime shockingly evil nature.”

This is the third and final part of this story.

So, sit back, turn down the lights, pull up the covers, and pay close attention as I read The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Join me in The Red Treehouse as we explore the disquieting story of the Mary Celeste. Inarguably one of the most famous mass disappearances occurred over 150 years ago in the Atlantic Ocean near the Azorean Islands. In 1872, the brigantine ship, Mary Celeste, was discovered adrift—it’s cargo intact, but no sign of its crew or passengers. It’s a mystery that endures to this day.

What happened to the ship’s crew in December 1872? Was their disappearance supernatural? Or is there is more rational—and natural—explanation?
