On this week’s show, reigning NBA Most Improved Player and former Orlando Magic power forward Ryan Anderson joins us in the studio (yes, Cameron geeks out a little). Also, a great indie rock band, Yellow Ostrich, joins us for a segment. Jesse gives us a recap of his Jersey Shore vacation and we unveil your greatest fears. It’s a great episode so don’t go anywhere (unless you want to leave us and go to L.A.—we’re used to that).

On this Olympic-themed, inadvertently global podcast, we talk to USA Track and Field Olympian Lopez Lomong, a former Lost Boy of Sudan who came to the United States at the age of 16. Besides running the 5,000-meter event this week, he’s doing some incredible things to help people in need through his foundation. Plus, Adam Smith joins us with an Olympic-based Rambo of the Month (spoiler alert: Rambo wins). And being fed-up with NBC’s delayed coverage, we decided to go straight to the source and bring in our very own British corespondent to give us the inside scoop on the Olympic Games. Yes people, Lloyd Kinsley joins us on this week’s podcast (and thankfully no pigs were harmed in the process). We might be biassed, but we’re already giving this episode a gold medal…

What one fear would you like to conquer?
From swimming across the ocean to escaping Sudan and becoming an Olympian, this week’s podcast dealt with the issue of overcoming and conquering the challenges set before us. So our question this week is a bit heavier than usual, but an important one nonetheless. We want to know, what one fear would you like to conquer? And while the easy answer might be “heights” or “snakes on a plane,” we really want to hear the inside story of your fear and how you might go about conquering it.

On this week’s podcast, the legendary John Tesh joins us for what might go down in podcast history as our favorite interview of all time. We don’t know if Mr. Tesh feels the same way, but it doesn’t matter … we spent nearly an hour talking to The Tesh about his career, music, faith, Yanni, Howie Mandel, and the greatness that is #TESHsays. Oh and at one point, The Tesh brakes into a rap. That’s right, John Tesh raps. We could go on, but seriously just stop reading this and start listening to this week’s show. You won’t be disappointed!

When have you seen parents crossing the line and going too far for their kids?
We’ve all seen it happen, or heaven forbid, we’ve been there ourselves: young, cool, out in public … and with our parents. And for whatever reason our parents decided to cross a line and do something to completely embarrass us in front of our friends, our peers, or just anyone in the general vicinity. So this week we want to know your most embarrassing parents-crossing-the-line-for-you story. Don’t hold back…just look at this as your way of enacting revenge for that embarrassing moment.

On this week’s podcast, David Leonard and Leslie Jordan—better known as All Sons and Daughters —stop by for an amazing in-studio performance. They actually performed five songs for us and we filmed them all. Plus, we talk to Jeff Pishney of Love Modesto, an organization that is demonstrating kindness, meeting needs and impacting lives with the love of Jesus. And if you follow us on Twitter, you know that the really big news this week centers around our newfound obsession with John Tesh and his agreement to appear on the podcast, so yeah, we talk quite a bit about that. We also read a few more #TESHsays tweets from the man himself and our favorites from the ones you came up with last week!

What question do you want us to ask John Tesh?
Listeners, you made it happen. We said we wanted to get John Tesh on the podcast so you inundated his Twitter feed with requests until there was no choice but for The Tesh to oblige. Now, the crew has found itself in the awkward position of not knowing what to ask The Tesh. So once again, we need your help. Send us the questions that you want us to ask him when he appear

On this week’s podcast, we talk to filmmaker N.D. Wilson about his project Notes From the Tilt-A-Whirl. He’s also the best-selling author of a bunch of children’s books, but this project is completely different as it provides an emotional and intellectual tour of life and death. We also get sidetracked by John Tesh’s Twitter feed, Jesse makes us play a game based on summer movies, Cameron gives up caffeine, Maya is absent and Calvin brings one of the creepiest slices we’ve heard in a LONG time. Are you ready to get your Roundball Rock on?

What is your best #TESHsays?
While John Tesh is undoubtedly a cultural icon, his Twitter feed (@johntesh) is even greater than the man himself. The life advice he doles out is more than enough wisdom for a lifetime. And it all lives within the hashtag #TESHsays. So this week, we want to flood the internet and Twittersphere with our own Tesh nuggets. Using the hashtag #TESHsays, impart your own wisdom in 140 characters or less. Post your favorites below or on our Twitter page (@RELEVANTpodcast), but be sure to use #TESHsays in all of your responses. We’ll read our favorites on next week’s show.
On this week’s podcast, we catch up with Jacob Merritt of up-and-coming rock band Pomegranates. Also, in honor of a certain recent holiday, we bring back legendary podcast game “Indie Band or Firework?” (it’s Calvin’s first time playing). You flood us with your #social #media #pet #peeves, no one eats almonds while we record, and a lot more.
