S2E8: The Renegade Writer’s Mouthy Musings
What’s up, Y’all? I hope everything is going well for you today. I’m doing pretty ok. Though I woke up early and almost talked myself out of the gym earlier, I changed my mind about it.
I saw the sign, and it opened up my eyes. I saw the sign.
I’m not one to fall for the mystical shit that some seem so tuned into. I’m a skeptic by nature. I tend to rely on science and logic, things that can be proven. But today, there was a sign. And it made me accomplish a goal and had me thinking about “signs.”
Allow me to explain in today’s podcast. Thank you for lending me your ears on this one, as always. You’re all awesome. Let me know what you think about this episode in the comments. I appreciate you all!

Good afternoon to you all! In today’s podcast, I talk about a couple of recent online friends who were lamenting about the wilfully ignorant, racist, bigoted people they have to put up with on our writing and social media sites.
Spoiler alert: You DON’T have to put up with them.
Sadly, too many choose to engage with these asswipes when it’s not required. You can train yourself to ignore and block their shitty insults. And you’ll save a lot of time doing so while being far less stressed out and angry about it.
Give this one a listen if you struggle with horrible people online. It’s a bit spicy, and I use somewhat more cursing than usual, but that’s only because I’m passionate about this topic. And because I care about you and your well-being. Thank you for lending me your ears once again!

Good afternoon, everyone! I’m trying to get this one published before I fall asleep sitting up. It was Day 1 of getting back to the gym after the holidays. Plus the afternoon sun is coming in through my bedroom window. Mooch curled up next to me isn’t helping, either.
I feel a nap attack coming on. Mostly, I blame the gym, though.
These haven’t been happening since I took the last month and a half off from working out. I kept talking myself out of going. You’re too busy, you went on a walk earlier, that’s good enough, blah blah blah.
I’m over it. I need to invest an hour a day in my health if I plan to be around to keep building this amazing thing I have going. I also want to be able to foot it around Europe, Asia, and South America once I’m able to travel. I’m serious about writing a travel blog, complete with photography.
So it starts by holding myself accountable. I actually like being at the gym and working out. The hard part is getting off my ass and driving there. And we don’t even live that far away from it. Here’s to new goals that aren’t writing and podcast-related. &:^)

Hey Y’all.
This was a difficult episode to record today. It’s not always easy sticking to my routine. It was especially difficult today since I was running a bit late. The afternoon article took a bit longer than usual, and I needed to pick my daughter up around a certain time.
And then a big emotional curveball was thrown at me. I almost struck out.
Extended family drama, affecting our immediate family time. But I hung in there. I worked things out and felt better after recording this one. Now it’s ready to go and I’ll be in my favorite place, my zen area. The kitchen. Soon there will be tune playing, vino being sipped, and I’ll be cooking for my family.
Reset button pushed.
Thank you for listening, I appreciate you lending me your ears. Today wasn’t easy, but I’m resilient if I’m anything. Perhaps it was overblown on my end. Regardless, things are better. I hope you enjoy this one, it was worth powering through to do. &:^)

Happy Saturday to you all! Damn, I had a rough time today. Not only with today’s podcast episode, (which I had to restart due to technical difficulties) but also with my writing. It was a grind to get my articles done today.
And that almost never happens.
But it did, and though it was a struggle, it made me proud. I felt accomplished after powering through everything and putting out more writing and this podcast episode. I could have easily given up, half-assed it, or run a rerun. But my content creation means more to me than that.
You guys deserve better than “average.” My goals and dreams are more important than just mailing it in and doing a mediocre job. When the going gets tough, the Pro gets going. I hope you enjoy today’s episode about overcoming struggles and working hard to make the best use of one’s time.
Thank you for lending me your ears today. I appreciate and value every one of you!

Hello, Everyone! Happy Friday afternoon to you all. The topic for today’s podcast came to me during a trip the the grocery store. Mooch and I were riding along in my truck on the way home. I was cuddling her like a baby, listening to Lady Gaga, and had to laugh at the situation.
This was after observing two very different parenting styles in the grocery store. Both men treated their sons/grandsons in completely different ways. I admired one of them while feeling disgust toward the other. How are some men so completely different from others?
Give this one a listen and I’ll tell you my thoughts on the topic. As always, thank you for lending me your ears, I’m always happy to chat about what I’m feeling at the moment. Mooch and I are grateful you enjoy this podcast!

Hello, Y’all!
Happy Thursday to you. I hope all is well and you’re enjoying this second day of 2025. I just got back from walking Mooch and had an interesting thought after walking by our MAGA neighbor’s house.
They’re those weirdos who have a large Trump 2024 flag stapled on their house. Above the garage. Yeah…
Fortunately, I don’t see them outside often. I was imagining what it would be like if we had emojis that popped up above our heads each time we were happy, sad, angry, or frustrated. I’d certainly have a pissy-faced emoji if I looked their way and saw that flag.
Fortunately, I have a hell of a poker face. I can be friendly to anyone, even knowing what I know about their politics or religion. Unless they come at me first with a shit attitude, I can generally get along with anyone.
But hey, let me tell you about it in today’s podcast rather than type some long diatribe about it. Thank you for lending me your ears, as always. I appreciate it so much! &:^)

Happy New Year to you all! I’m happy to be back for Season 2 of The Renegade Writer’s Mouthy Musings. I’ve been recording and posting these podcast episodes daily for 2 1/2 months now.
And it wasn’t because of some fucking stupid New Year’s resolution.
I’ve made it close to 75 days straight because I have goals. I work hard. I love what I do. It’s much easier to succeed when you’re doing something that you’re passionate about. That you have a real love for.
For me, that’s writing, photography, and podcasting. And I sure appreciate you lending me your eyes and your ears for it all. I do this in part because of all the wonderful people who seem to dig it. 550,000 views in the past 30 days of my articles and podcasts tell me to keep at it.
I will. I won’t let you down. Some of you pay to support this work of mine and I owe you my best effort. You’ll get that in 2025 and beyond. Thank you so much for everything. I hope you enjoy this episode! &:^)

Happy New Year’s Eve to you all! We’re here in the hizzouse this NYE, me, my Bride, two of my three kids, and Auntie. Oh wait, let’s not forget Libby the Mooch! She’s going to be a fixture in the kitchen tonight when I am making Chicken Carbonara for the family.
She’s a hell of a Roomba. And it’s fun to have someone in there while I cook. She likes my singing, but thinks I drink a little too much vino.
Tough shit, Mooch. It’s New Year’s Eve. Time to party up and celebrate another wonderful year, as a family man, writer, photographer, and podcaster. Two of those things were new in 2024. This year came with some tough challenges, but also some amazing new accomplishments.
Let me tell you about the ups and downs of my third year as a writer. It was lit. Thank you for lending me your ears! &:^)

Hey Y’all!
Happy Monday afternoon to you. I hope your next-to-the-last day of 2024 has been a solid one. Mine started rough for a few reasons, but I realized something:
Life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it and recover.
Even with several things going sideways, I can still see the big picture. My game plan is always changing, new things in motion. It takes more than a few annoyances to wreck my day. We need to remember this heading into 2025.
It’s going to be rough out there. Once Trump takes office, there will be many challenges most of us will face. How we react to those curveballs will have everything to do with our quality of life and mental health.
You’re stronger than you think. Keep that in mind on New Year’s Day. Thank you for listening to this one, I appreciate you lending me your ears. &:^)
