These are common fears that women at midlife and beyond share: Can I do this? Am I good enough? Does anyone care what I have to say? The mission of my podcast is to share inspiring stories of women who have put fear aside and taken on the challenge of reinventing themselves or taking time to begin following a passion they've put on hold for awhile. Today my guest is Amanda Schaefer. The addiction problems of Amanda Schaefer's ex-husband left scars on her and her children, but as part of their healing they had to begin again. Today Amanda has gone on to publish two books, and started a publishing company with her son. This story exemplifies putting fear aside and being brave.

She is also the creator and host of CNN's Digital series "American Woman" which focuses on the stories of trailblazing women who have broken barriers in their respective fields and are now helping other women do the same. Baldwin came to CNN in 2008.
In addition to holding down two hours in the studio, Baldwin is often sent into the field to the biggest breaking stories in the US and around the world. She played a key role in covering the historic 2016 Presidential election. She's also reported from Europe, Africa and the Middle East. In April 2016, Baldwin traveled to the Persian Gulf for an exclusive embed opportunity with the US Navy, reporting on the War on Terror. She traveled to Kenya ahead of President Obama's historic visit and landed an exclusive interview with his half-sister and grandmother in the Obama family ancestral village.
Brooke exudes confidence, and has a gift of allowing guests to feel comfortable and trusted, and therefore covers stories that touch the hearts, and speak to so many as they listen. Brooke has a unique ability of empowering women, and will continue to use that gift in her journey as a journalist, wife, daughter, friend. Now taking on her 40's - she will make an impact in whatever she encounters along her journey.

Busy schedules make it difficult to find time to read a book. Your list of must reads is a mile long...so do moms have time to read books? A mom from Manhattan has become the toast of the book business due to the success of her podcast, "Moms don't have time to read books."
Zibby Owens is a wife and busy mom of four children under the age of 13, and has made it her mission to help other mothers find the time to read.
Zibby always has a book in her hand, whether waiting to pick up her kids at school or waiting for them to go to sleep at night. I have a conversation with Zibby, to find our what prompted her to start her podcast, and how she put her fears aside to take on the challenge.

Kimberley Locke won the hearts of many with her incredible talent on Season 2 of American Idol. My conversation with Kimberley is like chatting with a friend you've known forever. She's warm, she's gracious and allows her joy to radiate in everything she does. Kimberley launched a new talk show this season, Doctor and the Diva, and is finding her stride sharing her passion of music, coaching those around her to be their best, and following her dreams. Kimberley is also Founder and CEO of I AM Entertainment
When Kimberley isn’t helping other artists to make their dreams come true, she’s creating and performing her own music.
Auditioning for the 2003 series of TV talent show American Idol® was a life-changing decision for Kimberley. She successfully passed the audition and became a firm fan favorite, eventually placing as second runner up and setting her on a new career path in the music industry.
Kimberley signed to Curb Records immediately after her American Idol journey, where she became a very successful recording artist and released three full-length albums with the label. Among her many achievements she’s had eight Top 20 Adult Contemporary hits and four #1 Dance hits across various Billboard charts. Her #1 club hit, a remake of the Freda Payne classic “Band of Gold,” was included on Billboard’s “Top 50 Dance Songs of the Decade” list. She’s also made history as being the only recording artist to score a #1 Christmas song on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart three years in a row.
In 2009, Kimberley parted ways with Curb Records and became the first artist to sign a deal with Randy Jackson’s record label, Dream Merchant 21 Entertainment. Two years later, she announced she was launching her own artist consulting company, I AM Entertainment, LLC. She released her first independent EP album, “Four for the Floor” through I AM Entertainment in July 2011, followed by a cover of “Silver Bells” four months later, and “Finally Free” the following year.
Most recently she was seen at the 2016 finale of American Idol, which was watched by around 13 million viewers. At the finale she sang her hugely successful 2004 single “8th World Wonder,” along with additional solo and group performances with other American Idol favorites.

Part 1 of 2 (Aging Parents)
Is your family ready? As we are coming off of the holidays, and you may have spent time with your parents, or siblings and have the the slightest feeling that you should start preparing for the future of aging, this podcast episode will help answer some of the questions. We have a tendency to avoid things that make us uncomfortable, but with 10,000 people turning 65 every day, it’s not a matter of it this is going to affect you, it’s a matter of when. Kelli Bradley, is an expert on caregiving, and has both lived the journey personally while caring for her parents, but she will also share her knowledge and insight and empower you to take on this challenge with grace. You’ll find yourself prepared to for the future, and ready to ask the tough questions.
Kelli is a native Oregonian who has dedicated the last twenty years of her life both personally and professionally to senior care. Kelli's mom was diagnosed with diabetes many years ago, and she suffered multiple complications ranging from blindness to kidney failure. It was during that time Kelli realized they were not the only family struggling to find solutions for care. That realization led her to create and run one of the leading in-home care companies. Over the next decade, Kelli served hundreds of families, helping them to navigate the ins and outs of caring for an aging family member.
But Kelli knew something was still missing. Kelli knew there was more to helping families than just in-home care. The Devoted Daughter was soon born — a comprehensive resource for family caregivers. Kelli serves her clients through workshops, speaking events, and digital courses. She also published her first book titled, "Always Her Daughter." The book is part memoir and part caregiver manual.
To learn more about her services, you can visit thedevotedduaghter.com and visit her on social media.
