The Rightward shift of Islam Critics - A speech for BC Humanist Association.
If you're able to watch this on YouTube I'd recommend that, since with visual aids it's so much better : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ej-biPgGMzE
But if not, the audio works too :)

I did a speech via Skype over in BC a couple of weeks ago, a big thanks to them for having me. I am posting it on my podcast with their permission.
This talk is based on a blog post I did recently: http://nicemangos.blogspot.ca/2017/09/forbidden-intersectionality-liberal-ex.html and an interview I did with Cracked http://www.cracked.com/personal-experiences-2524-im-liberal-ex-muslim-this-my-life.html
I could just take the easy, rewarding route and be the anti-sjw, friend of RW ex Muslim...but those gosh darn principles, stop me from it :/
So...We had a pretty fiery Q&A session after the talk....which ended up sort of being a good example of my frustrations with both the ex-muslim movement and atheist/skeptic movement in general right now.
Unfortunately the call kept cutting during the Q&A so some questions weren't recorded - and some of my responses weren't either (I can tell you though that I do not agree with the statement that Christina H. Sommers is a great feminist, i didn't catch the other name). But the two most interesting and angriest Qs were luckily recorded. I think they are useful to illustrate the very lack of nuance on this topic I was lamenting throughout the speech.
