It's impossible to see how this is anything more than a subsidy for households who can already afford the tuition or how it benefits students from poor households or those with exceptional needs. We've seen how this goes elsewhere (and provide proof). I'm also joined by Dom Kelly, co-founder & CEO of New Disabled South, who weighs in on private schools being allowed to take public dollars soon while still discriminating without blowback.

Superior court judge Scott McAfee did what teachers used to do to students who didn't show their work; he returned six indictments against Donald Trump & some of his co-conspirators because the Fulton County district attorney's office didn't specify what Georgia or US Constitutional statutes the defendants allegedly violated. Unforced error or a willful attempt to be vague to make defense's work more difficult?

Leading up to today's presidential primary in Georgia, I offer up Dr. Jill and President Joe Biden's visit to Pullman Yards last weekend (just wonderful for Atlanta United home match day traffic, I tell ya ...). Anyhow, for the most part, that's today's show. Also I've been super-swamped with work away from the show so forgive me the slack-off. :)

Sen. Raphael Warnock had time (before church, I suppose?) for the Sunday talk circuit and at one check-in - on Meet the Press - he was pressed by Kristen Welker about Georgia's support for incumbent President Joe Biden, former Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan's prospects as a potential third party candidate, plus Fani Willis' fate (he passed on commenting). Hear his optimistic spin on what appears to be an uphill slog (for now, anyway). Later in the show I'm revisiting his impassioned floor speech from last week on the floor of the US Senate calling for a negotiated ceasefire between Hamas and Israel. To my mind, it's the most earnest speech by a major American political figure giving equal angst and passion for the Palestinian people.

Before that, though, ya had to know 'Saturday Night Live' had the "cold open" awaiting Sen. Katie Britt after her ... dramatic ... response to the State of the Union address. Well they did, but it was journalist Jonathan M. Katz that had some colder water to throw on her use of an immigrant's story that had many in political circles talking.

Admit it; you watched the State of the Union address last night to see if President Joe Biden could still fog a mirror, and if so, for what percentage of the speech. Or maybe you tuned in just to see what Marjorie Taylor Greene would wear and do. Well, Biden was as sharp and energetic as we've been told he was behind closed doors, and Marge was ... Marge.

Hear me go over the highs and lows of last night's State of the Union. Incidentally, early polling suggests Biden won over a lot of skeptical voters.

What could have been a multi-casualty situation near and inside Six Flags over Georgia was, luckily, "just" gunfire and a 15-year old perp in the hospital awaiting multiple charges. Still, how is it teens are so easily obtaining guns (like ghost guns) and why are so many so comfortable having them? I'll explore.

I usually set the TV timer to send me to bed with "The Golden Girls" tucking me in, but Rachel Maddow caught my attention talking about the movie "Black Panther," which struck me as odd. I stuck with Rachel and ... whew, what a restless sleep I had afterwards, comparable to Rose, Blanche, Dorothy & Sophia settling me in more cozily. It's a mad mad mad (Republican Party world out there, y'all.

Lastly, why is Rep. Mike Collins not only amplifying an antisemitic X platform post, but digging in when challenged over by pols and pundits on both sides of the aisle?

If you miss out on "The Georgia Gang" - airing Sunday mornings, locally on WAGA-TV (Fox 5/Atlanta) - you may have no concept how comedic this Sunday political talk program can be sometimes. No disrespect to its moderator, Lori Geary, or the staff who puts the show together. I'm not even going to blanket-scald all right wing pundits; I have immense respect, for example, for Martha Zoller, who appears frequently (but not often enough, in my opinion). I just can't, for the life of me, understand why the show's management continues to allow churlish behavior from the likes of Phil Kent. Hear a contrast in delivery from former Georgia House representative Alisha Thomas Searcy and Kent as they discuss Athens' supposed 'sanctuary city" status, and GOP legislation in the wake of the UGA campus death.

While on that subject, the AJC reached out to "crimmigration" experts who all conclude the problem with local law enforcement and their working relationship with I.C.E. has more to do with I.C.E. lacking detention facilities and staffing to handle the greater need Republican lawmakers want of them now. See, I.C.E. is disinterested in retrieving undocumented immigrants arrested for petty non-violent misdemeanors or traffic stops. They simply don't have the means to deal with all of those cases. Ya know, a bipartisan Senate compromise bill that came with additional funding never saw a vote in the House. Who remembers this?

New polling shows President Biden trailing the oft-indicted, found guilty of sexual assault former President Donald Trump by five points nationally. Don't hand-wring over that; be more concerned that this election will come down to five swing states and Biden trails Trump in all five of them, too. Or, keep your eye on 50%, like I am.

Finally, progressives are making some noise (or quietly protesting) in Georgia - or planning to a week from Tuesday on primary Election Day .
