Back on the podcast today is your favorite co-host, Lindsay Stagg, and we are going deep into the topic of prayer. I don’t know if yall are feeling this same thing, but we keep meeting the conviction to pray. Whether it’s bold prayers, prayers of thanksgiving, or just praying continuously, we feel the Lord calling us to pray. So today, we’re talking about just that: prayer. But the question that kept coming up in our conversation was: why aren’t we praying? What we found in chasing down that question were some really vulnerable and honest confessions. We share stories of answered prayer, times of desperate prayers, and also some places where we still haven’t seen the answers yet. This conversation is probably the most I’ve ever been out of my comfort zone on the Saltworks, but after much prayer, we feel led to share it, and we continue to pray that it meets you where you are.

We all have seasons of striving. Seasons where perfection and belonging to this world seem to drive our every decision– even when we want to serve God wholeheartedly. Kelley Frankowicz is on the podcast today sharing her story, and boy, does she bring some truth to these places. If you don’t know Kelley, she keeps things real and honest all the while giving God the glory. Kelley grew up the third of three girls, a pastor’s daughter, and a driven student. Goal-oriented but faced with many detours, Kelley’s story highlights the battle we all face: serving self or serving God. Through both hardships and successes, you will hear her share how God has shaped her story into one of surrender and trust. In this episode, we are reminded: He really is worthy of it all– no matter what we must give up in our pursuit of Him and His glory.
Disclaimers: This episode does mention abortion and postpartum psychosis, for anyone that may be sensitive to these topics.

Welcome back to the Saltworks! Is it really Season 3?! I’ve felt like we’ve miscounted, but alas– it truly is! We’re kicking off the season with your (and my) new favorite co-host Lindsay Stagg for a Topic Tuesday. Today’s topic: Walking in Seasons of Wilderness.
We hear the word ‘wilderness,’ and may even toss it around on occasion, but what do we really mean when we say this? Today we will talk through what wilderness seasons are, the lies we will encounter and may tend to believe about the wilderness, and ultimately, God’s truth about it all. We talk a lot about those wandering Israelites and dive into the text in Luke 4 about Jesus’s wilderness season.
In short? The wilderness is not a place of punishment but a place of purpose. We’re so excited to be back with yall, and we can’t wait to see what this season has in store for us. Hope you enjoy the episode!
We want to know: what’s your wilderness?

It’s the Season 2 season finale today, and it just so happens to coincide with mine and Andrew’s 13th wedding anniversary! Naturally, we decided to do something special and a little different to commemorate the two! Today on the podcast for the first time this season is my husband Andrew, and we are talking all about intentionality in marriage. What began as taking questions for a Q&A ended up being mostly questions on this very topic! So we took that and ran with it and today to end this wonderful year of the Saltworks, we are talking about how we can be intentional with the Lord, each other, in communication, grace, and accountability— even in the busiest seasons. In today’s episode, whether you hear a quote, thought, or verse you’ve never heard before or it was just sweet reminders for you, we hope you feel encouraged and ultimately, that you hear God’s truth. It’s been a truly wonderful year. Thank you to all the guests, and thank you so much for listening. We will see you next SEASON!! ✌🏼Love yall! 🤎

A beautiful soul named Felicia Toler is on the podcast today, and I cannot wait to share her miraculous story of shame turned into hope and darkness replaced by light. Felicia and I met at the end of Season 1 when she sent me the most encouraging email after listening to the Saltworks. In that email, Felicia shared with me the miracle that is her life today, and now one year later, I am getting the honor to share it with you. It is the kind of story that we just don’t get to hear much, because it can be difficult to share, but Felicia was so brave and so kind to come and share it with us today. I do want to disclaim for anyone with younger kids or for those who may find some of today’s conversation triggering, that we do talk about abortion and suicide. Felicia boldly and vulnerably discloses parts of her story that many may not know and with those, the hope of Jesus Christ and the miraculous healing that he can and does bring into our stories. Despite the hard road you will hear and the darkness she has walked through, Felicia is so full of joy and spreads light to all she meets. The Lord has good plans for her yet, and I can’t wait for you to hear her story and be encouraged.
I want to say to anyone who has or is struggling with thoughts of suicide or depression, please tell someone. Please reach out to someone and know that you are not alone and those thoughts are not the verdict nor is this darkness the end of the story. There is hope, and his name is Jesus.

This week on the podcast is my new friend Liz Armour, and y'all she is a wise one! Liz is a former engineer turned homeschool mom, and she is brilliant at everything she puts her mind to. She blew me away with today’s episode. You will hear the honest resilience of a girl who was once reluctant to turn loose of her trust yet who boldly shares with us today the work of the Lord in her life. Sharing our story is never an easy task, but it is always a worthy one. Liz’s story is no exception. What is so fascinating about stories like Liz’s is just how unique and perspective-shifting someone’s experiences can be. What’s so beautiful is how God pursued her continuously despite all obstacles through friends, coaches, and families who loved and served the Lord. You will hear Liz share the vulnerable hard parts of her childhood today, her drive for busyness and distraction in adolescence, and her skepticism as a teenager for a God who seemed too good to be believable. You will also hear her surrender moment to this very same God and the way He’s changed her life since. I cannot wait for you to hear her story and get to know her– just listen! You will not regret a minute!

Guys, Reeves Walker is on the podcast this week, and you do not want to miss it! You may know Reeves from LO Worship, Remax real estate, his lawn care company Bottomland Projects, or leading local worship, but today we get to hear his story, and it is so good. As is true for Reeves, his story is just very real and honest. It’s a story of chasing down fulfillment and happiness in every area of the world before surrendering and finding that abundant life in Jesus Christ. Today we talk about the party scene in college, the immense importance of community, the power of parent’s prayers and intuition, and what God can do with our obedience. Just like we hear in LO Worship music, we hear today the beauty of the Lord’s presence in Reeve’s story. If you don’t know him, you will love him and his story!

It’s another Topic Tuesday on the podcast today, so you know we had to bring our favorite co-host Lindsay back! This is a topic we discuss a lot behind the scenes, so this week we decided why not have the conversation on the podcast? Dying to self— it’s not always our most favorite topic. Yet, when we really take a deep dive into what that is and what it might look like, we find that we gain far more than we could ever imagine.
As always, we couldn’t possible exhaust this topic, so I hope today at the very least leads you to take these things to the Lord in prayer and search His Word for the answers you seek. We hope you enjoy it, and we can’t wait to hear your thoughts on today’s topic!

Wendy Driedger is on the podcast today, and y’all aren’t ready! She is always so well-spoken, and today is no exception. Her story will move you, inspire you, and remind you who holds it all. Wendy is a wife, a mom, a foster parent, and on staff at North Monroe as the Local Missions and Hospitality Director, she helps run Project 2.5+, and so much more. Wendy’s story sheds new light on her heart for others to be welcomed, seen, and loved wherever she goes.
Today, Wendy and I talk about perfectionism, self-sufficiency, wanting others to fill the role of Savior in relationships, and that deep familiar feeling of “I’m not enough.” Wendy brings such good news into all of these topics, and how peaceful that surrender to Jesus can look no matter what we are facing. You are just going to love her and her story.
P.S. I do advise a box of tissues on this one, guys.
And be sure to check out Project 2.5+ to see how you can give, get involved, and serve alongside this mission!
