Today’s guest on the show is actually not a guest at all, however, you’ve never heard her story!! Yes, today on the podcast is Lindsay Stagg, and she is sharing her testimony. I cannot wait for you to listen. It is so good and so powerful, that we’ve actually broken it into two weeks. Today, Lindsay shares her story of growing up in the church, meeting Collin, teaching for 11 years, and walking through a long, hard season of infertility. Lindsay points out that comfort and control can become idols in our lives and what it looked like when the loss of both led her to bold prayers. We share about a beautiful miracle story that we call Lillian! We cannot wait to share the first half of Lindsay’s story!

We are BACK! It is officially Season 4 on the Saltworks, and we are so excited to be back with you diving into stories, topics, and scripture every Tuesday. Today we are kicking off the season with your favorite (and now permanent) cohost Lindsay Stagg on navigating through burnout and making intentional choices. We talk about the physicality, emotional impact, and spiritual aspects of burnout that I’d honestly never really experienced. Along with that, the surprising things God can do in our lives through burnout. In this episode, we also go into the importance of living with intentionality and some hard questions we have to honestly and humbly ask in prayer. I apologize in advance for this week’s challenge– just know I’m wrestling with it too!

It is the Season 3 Finale!!! It’s been such a sweet and wild season–I can’t believe today is the end! Of course we had to have a Topic Tuesday with your very favorite cohost Lindsay Stagg. Today we are talking all about things we’ve learned, what we are learning, and what we’d like to learn. We talk about taking thoughts captive and setting new rhythms. We talk about how our thoughts can affect our actions while our actions can also influence our thoughts. We dive into the heart of people-pleasing, valuable lessons we’ve learned in battling that, and how to sit before the Lord and just ask Him to search our hearts. We had so much fun just relaxing into these topics and getting real in this conversation– I hope you are encouraged and enjoy it as much as we did. Thank you so much for joining us in Season 3, and don’t worry, we’ll be back in a few months with another exciting season!

We have a fun, sweet, and beautiful soul on the podcast today! Lori Young is with us sharing her story, and you won’t be able to get enough. We actually had to stop our conversation beforehand and make ourselves start recording because she’s just such a joy to talk to! Lori is a wife, a mom of 3, a grandmother, an amazing artist, and the International Missions Pastor’s wife at North Monroe. Even though I knew these things about her, I was blown away by all that she does for missions– it's a 24 hour job, y'all! And Lori does it with such grace and kindness. She shares some seasons when she learned to deeply depend on the Lord and gives a glimpse into her experience living on mission. In it all, Lori’s story through her artist voice just feels like we’re looking at life and people through the eyes of our Creator. Can’t wait for you to listen!

I know these words sound overused, but hear me when I say they are exactly what I mean: you will not want to miss this episode. Phyllis Thomas is our guest today, and Emily Jones has sung her praises for months now, and man, was she right. Phyllis is someone who intentionally walks in the way of the upright, lives with deep convictions that match the patterns of her life, and seeks to build the kingdom of Heaven in everything she does. Because of her radical and beautiful faith, Phyllis’s life has had many twists and been marked by many surprising turns, but none so surprising as finding out that her father was Phil Robertson. Full transparency, I did cry in almost half of the episode, but mostly because we serve a good, good Father, and that is unquestionably evident in the life of Phyllis Thomas.

We have Joey Young on the podcast this week, and trust me you do not want to miss this one. Joey is our International Missions Pastor at North Monroe, so he spends much of his time traveling with his wife Lori Young to multiple countries a year. What you may not know is that Joey didn’t always do international missions. Today Joey shares his story of always serving in the church, raising his family, working for and then running his family’s electrical company, and also how the Lord led him to surrender to the mission work he’s doing now. Joey shares his insight on what he’s learned through his work, travel, and the way other cultures have deeply impacted him. This week I got the honor to interview Tom Pryde, a pastor and the founder of Psalm 82 Initiative which is a ministry built on victim advocacy. Tom’s extensive wisdom and experience in this ministry has led him to organize his teaching into 4 specific patterns that are present in every abusive relationship as well as how those may show up. We also talk today about how we can all have tendencies towards selfishness and unhealthy patterns in any relationship, and how we can move towards health in marriage, friendship, and even the workplace. Tom also shares information with us on how we can walk alongside those who find themselves in an abusive situation, how we can love them, and how we can wisely and safely get them help.
