Oooohhhhh Yeaaahhhh!  That’s right.  Just like the giant Koolaid Pitcher. Ok yes I know Family Guy has done that joke like 8 times.  Don’t fucking judge me. After a few weeks of hiatus, The Terrible Friends are back with one of our best episodes yet!  We talk about Jeff throwing up on his brother in the bathtub, kids throwing up on birthday cakes (Jeff probably did this too), our support and appreciation of mens’ time in the bathroom, and our ever prevalent poop humor. We’ve also decided to combine our MovieNite podcast into our normal podcast, so definitely check out what we have to say about the awesome Spanish language fantasy/horror flick Pan’s Labyrinth! Check it out!  Have a taste!  Sink your teeth in! Just be aware that you’ll probably have a red stained tongue. Yeah, I did another Koolaid joke.  I’m cool like that.

This movie is either about space, or bare asses.  You can be assured that if we had made this movie, it would have been about both. Moon stars Sam Rockwell and the disembodied voice of Kevin Spacey as GERTY the robot.  It is about a miner who is stationed by himself on the moon during a 3 year contract.  All of the Terrible Friends rather enjoyed this movie, and we definitely picked it apart in the podcast.  SPOILER ALERT.  We totally ruin the end of the movie if you haven’t seen it.

Did you know that dust from break pads is toxic? I didn’t either. Thank you Terrible Friends Podcast! It’s a mediacast this week, the Terrible Friends (like Super Friends, get it?) talk about bitchy fat girls at country music concerts, how Lala.com is shutting down, the old N64 classic Perfect Dark, Instantwatcher.com, and the Wii game Mario and Luigi. Also we talk about how Jeff doesn’t know what a crescent wrench is, and is overall pretty ignorant about anything manly.

To sum up our foreign horror movie month, we decided to watch the Korean monster movie The Host.  This movie was about a giant mutated fish thing that terrorizes people along the Han River in Seoul, South Korea.  The story follows an incompetent father as he, his father, and his siblings try to track down the beast to rescue his daughter, who is taken as a snack for later.  Add that to an overall incompetent government, and generally stupid people all around, and you’ve got a healthy mix of horror, comedy, drama, and incompetence. We were pretty divided overall about this film, which lead to a lengthy and rich discussion, and quite a few spoilers. Check it out!

I know what you’re thinking.  You’re thinking, “Hey, isn’t there supposed to be a MovieNite podcast today?”  Well, you are correct.  There is supposed to be a MovieNite podcast today.  But you know what?  We made the rules, so we can break them, dammit.  We don’t need your approval.  We could do whatever the hell we wanted.  We could put out an Othercast every day for 3 weeks and then put out nothing but Latin chanting for another 3 weeks.  But we won’t, because Jeff would probably spontaneously combust. Our normally scheduled MovieNite will grace your ears on Thursday, but tonight you get to hear Jeff make Rich and Jake take a quiz from a Cosmopolitan Magazine.  The quiz gauges how well either of us flirt. Hilarity ensues.

Hola!  Bienvenidos a la podcast(?) de Los Amigos Terribles!  Ok that pretty much uses up all the Spanish I have left from college. For this week’s MovieNite we watched the Spanish film The Orphanage.  This is the third film for April, which is our Foreign Horror Movie month.  Aaaaaaand let me tell you that this movie is creeeeepy.  Anytime you mix spooky ghost horror with children and a foreign language the creepiness level ticks up a few notches, but this one takes the taco. So check it out, and be sure to watch it with the lights off.  And expect to have awful nightmares about children.  We all sure did.

Miracles and shit yo.  Fucking magnets, how do they work?  Haha… damn I wish I’d have thought up those song lyrics. We’ve got a Mediacast for you this week, and that means 6 (minus ridiculous tangents) topics of juicy comedy deliciousness.  Like a big sticky Terrible Friends cinnamon roll.  Mmm… tasty. In the recipe this week (recipe, cause it’s a cinnamon bun; damn I’m clever) we’ve got Rifftrax, Weeds, Darksiders, Dresden Files, a really awful ICP song, and Netflix Watch it Now for the Wii. So give it a listen.  It’s pure motherfucking magic. SNL Also made fun of this song. We have awesome comedic accuracy.

We really need to stop finding ridiculous sexual websites when we record these Othercasts.  It’s incredibly funny, but I always end up laughing so hard that I cry.  Several times.  I have to drink a gallon of water just to not get dehydrated. This week’s Othercast includes stories on how NOT to masturbate, terrible teachers from our childhood, and douchebags at coffee shops who watch/listen to stuff on their laptops without headphones. Yay!

I’m not going to make any abstract jokes to introduce the movie this time.  I’ve thought about it, and considering this movie contains brutal violence and undertones of pedophilia, I just don’t think I can do it without  crying a little on the inside.  I’m sorry, you just aren’t important enough to risk serious emotional harm to myself. The movie this week was the Swedish romantic horror film Let the Right One In, which is about a bullied 12 year old who meets and has a romantic(ish??) relationship with 12 year old girl.  But then you find out that the 12 year old girl is in fact a 200 year old vampire, and then you find out that she’s not really a girl either.  It does have some fairly violent scenes too.  There’s a part where a woman get’s attacked by like 15 cats.  She runs out of a room screaming with 15 hissing and yowling cats clinging all over her body.  Awesome. Let the Right One In does a truly remarkable thing in being very weird, creepy, and disturbing, and at the same time being very romantic and endearing.  It’s one of the few times so far when all three of us give a movie our overwhelming approval.

You know what I like? Sawing apart Nazi Zombies with a chainsaw and grinding their faces up with a snowmobile track. Ohhhh yeah. Gimme some sugar baby. For this week’s Movie Night we watched the Norwegian horror film Dead Snow, which is of course about a group of Norwegian medical students who go camping up in the mountains and manage to piss off a group of Nazi Zombies. So… awesomeness. Oh and the fat movie nerd is the only guy who gets laid. More awesomeness.
