When I developed a neutral mind regarding the way I viewed my eating disorder, everything shifted. Whereas I used to view my eating disorder as something that I had no control over, now I know that's it's only something that exists to guide me. To help me look at what needs to released so that something better can come into my life. Developing a neutral mind will help you move out of judgement and into acceptance, out of fear and into love.
As noted in the episode, I recommend looking into the polyvagal theory to learn more about nervous system regulation, as well as look up @the.holistic.psychologist on Instagram to learn more about self-soothing techniques!

Most people react to the world around them instead of responding. But what's the difference? A reaction is like a reflex. It's a behavior you engage in without any conscious thought, based on your past experiences. Responding is a choice. It involves conscious awareness, and choosing the best response that is going to be the most kind, and loving, and healthy for all people involved (including yourself!!!)
In this episode, I discuss how I learned this lesson from my disordered eating behaviors, and how to switch from reacting to responding!

If you don't like the current story (reality) that is your life, you have the ability to change it. And the only thing that that requires from you is that you change the person you are being in this world. Our external reality is simply a reflection of your internal reality. In this episode, I explain how my eating disorder lead me to this realization and how you can go about becoming someone you are truly proud to be. Please share this episode so others can hear this powerful information!

This episode is all about negative self thoughts - the stories our brains tell us about ourselves. All day long, our brains tell us stories to explain our inner state of being. So, whenever you have a negative self thought, you can be sure that there was a feeling in your body that preceded it. The key is to switch your attention away from your mind, and into your body. FEEL what's going on inside, and let the energy pass through you. The story means nothing!

When I realized I was substituting my hunger for life with a hunger for food, my whole perception changed. For years I had dimmed the aspect of me that was loving, and joying, and happy, and enthusiastic - because nobody mirrored that back to me! And so food became my source of love and joy and happiness. But now that I'm conscious of it, I get to own my passionate response to LIFE, and I don't need to use food as a substitute anymore. If you resonated with this lesson or received anything from this episode, I'd love to hear from you!

To hate any aspect of ourselves is to abandon ourselves. And self-abandonment is the very thing that causes us to engage in any coping mechanism - like binging. To love ourselves, is to accept and allow every aspect of us to exist, even if we don't necessarily like it.

In this episode I tell you my own personal story with an eating disorder - what it was like to be caught in the cycle of binge eating and how I was able to eventually liberate myself and fall back in love with me, my body, and with life. I hope you are able to make some connections to your own journey, and perhaps start your own process of liberation. It's such a beautiful journey.
