Superlative

The Transformation of Modern Watch Journalism With Roberta Naas

Listen Later

This is Superlative: A Podcast about watches, the people behind them, and the worlds that inspire them. This week on the Superlative Podcast, host and aBlogtoWatch Founder Ariel Adams is joined by the incredibly accomplished journalist, Roberta Naas. To start the show Ariel has Roberta dive into her initial journey into journalism and how she found herself writing about the watch industry. The two talk about how journalism today differs from the time that Roberta started her career. A time where it was a path taken through going to college and securing a noble and esteemed position within a publication, and how it has changed with the modern landscape of social media and influencers “reporting” on the industry. Ariel has Roberta travel back to the 80’s and 90’s to talk about where consumers typically gathered their information about watches and how much more advertising companies were doing during that time. Ariel and Roberta jump back into the last few decades of watch journalism, memories of Baselworld, and how brands can utilize modern journalism and advertising today. Join in on the conversation with Ariel and Roberta as they chat about the world of watch journalism and much more, on this week’s episode of Superlative!
