This week on the podcast, I’m delighted to share a conversation that I have with my dear friend, Natasha Mooney Walton. She tells her story of how she connected deeper with her identity by coming out as non-binary. Throughout her life and career she explained that there were a lot of things that caused pain and adversity. And by going through a big journey and accessing her true self and gender identity, she was able to find alignment and strength in multiple areas of her life.
As a friend and podcast host, I am proud to share stories of people from marginalized communities like Natasha. I think they are some of the most courageous because they have to work harder, and do it with less resources and support, and oftentimes some opposition.
As a BIPOC woman, being marginalized is kind of a part of my identity. And this month I’ve decided to put a focus on the topic of identity - how race, gender, and age plays a role and how to surrender to who we are to live a more fulfilling life.
Excited to share over the next few weeks!
Nicole Miller is a therapist who specializes in effective communication. We had a great conversation about how to deepen the connections in all types of relationships - romantic and platonic. She shares why it’s important to learn how to communicate constructively and offers useful ways on how to do this.
Listen to Episode 47 Now.
I’ve come a long way from how I used to deal with hard conversations. Over the years I’ve learned how to communicate better and to resolve conflict productively. Thank goodness. It’s given me the opportunity to cultivate deeper relationships with family, friends and my partner and has boosted my confidence and self esteem.
My partner Mario and I will be dedicating some time on the topic of healthy communication in our upcoming workshop: Steps to Creating a Secure Relationship. We’ll be sharing our personal experiences along with the tools and resources we use in deepening and maintaining connection in our relationship.
If you’re interested in attending, the FREE workshop is on Thursday, Feb 24 @ 8pm PST.

Healing has been the most challenging and most important work I’ve done in my life. It has positively impacted my business, my relationships, my energy and well-being.
All my life before healing, it’s almost like I had been climbing a mountain with a huge heavy backpack, stumbling uphill. And healing has offered me a chance to take the weight off, little by little so I could stop focusing on how heavy things were and begin to notice how beautiful everything is around me.
In my conversation with Holistic Trauma & Relationship Coach Cassandra Michael, we talked about inner child healing and how it’s the pathway to creating a healthy relationship.
Cassandra’s mission is to help men and women break free from unhealthy patterns by healing old wounds, rewiring limiting beliefs and stepping into their authenticity, so they can attract a soul-aligned partnership and experience deep, long-lasting love.

In this podcast episode, I talk about the most important relationship of all: the one we have with ourselves. I discuss why it’s necessary to cultivate a strong connection with yourself and what could happen if you don’t. I also share 15 useful tips on how to build a strong self-relationship.
At the end of the episode I offer a FREE gift, a downloadable audio guide called the Mind, Body and Soul Check in. It’s something I learned from attending the Hoffman Process a few years back that helps me connect with all parts of myself. I practice it every morning and I wanted to share my version with you. You can also download it right away here.
In my conversation with Janice Laurente, Communications Strategist and diplomat for the US government, she shares her personal and professional experience with making big changes multiple times in her life: from providing disaster relief in Haiti after the devastating 2010 earthquake, to moving back to the US to manifest her dream relationship after living in Indonesia for 6 years, and relocating to South Africa where she now lives with her life partner.
Janice gives us her expert advice on how and when it’s time to make a change on The Undercurrent Podcast.
My two cents on making a life change? Start small. And with each shift you make, feel into them and notice if your actions serve you. Stay put if you feel good and satisfied. If not, spend time contemplating your next move.
One way you can start small is by downloading my FREE guide: 75 Questions to Change your life. It’s a pdf with a long list of reflection questions that will help you gain awareness and clarity around where you are in life right now and where you might want to go in the future.
It’s right on my webpage, scroll down and you’ll find the link to download.

In my interview with Giulia Mulè, she shares her experiences in making a home in multiple new environments. After growing up in Rome, she moved to London for 12 years where she met her husband and became a full-time travel and food blogger. She spent some time living alone in Bali (where we met!), and recently relocated to Wroclaw, Poland, where she is starting over again.
We talk about what it took for her to create a home in each city she moved to and how she was able to find community and belonging.
She also shares her full circle journey of leaving her 9-5 job, to having the ultimate freedom from being an Instagram influencer, to joining the workforce again while still being able to share her passions with the world.
P.S.Are you craving change? Something different in your life, career or relationships?
You’re not alone. It’s definitely normal to feel that way, especially this time of year.
I’ve got a FREE resource for you called the Transformation Kickstarter. It contains a step-by-step blueprint of how to make a change in your life (even the tiniest of transformations) in a meaningful way.
Download it here.
I wasn’t ready to leave the beautiful island of Bali. It was my Eat, Pray, Love moment: surfing secluded beaches, meeting other nomadic souls from around the world, going on dates with gorgeous and interesting men. I was having the time of my life.
But all good things have to come to an end, right? And even if I wanted to stay, I couldn’t.
Plans change though. And all it took was one mindset shift, one email and one volcano to alter the story in my head.
Against my logic, I decided to stay.
In my interview with Rox Marthinussen, she shares a similar story of how life worked out in her favor in an unexpected way.
After struggling in her career as one of the only women of color in a white male dominated industry, she made a plan to transition out of her role and dive into a new one as a life coach and entrepreneur.
The road was far from easy, filled with bumps and detours and even disease.
Despite her obstacles and failed plans, she was able to change her life and heal physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Having a plan to achieve your goals is a good thing. It’s recommended! But instead of becoming attached to how it’s supposed to happen, stay open and curious for other possible and surprising ways your dreams can come true.
ANNOUNCEMENT:
Do you have a big goal or dream?
Is there something that meaningful you’ve been wanting to achieve in your life for a long time and finally feel ready to make it happen?
Maybe it’s starting a business, creating the ideal relationship or reaching a health goal. Are you done simply thinking about it and ready to start executing on it?
I know how exciting a time this is. To be on the edge and ready to make a leap.
It’s also scary. And frustrating trying to do it alone for years and not seeing progress.
Having the right kind of support is the key to transforming your life. It was for me.
And if you’re in this phase right now, I’m happy to offer my support.
I am opening up a few spots in my private 1:1 Life Design coaching program. It’s a special container I have for clients who are ready and willing to transform their life in a purposeful and sustainable way. We go through a step by step process of getting clear on your purpose, what’s most important to you and draw out a detailed execution plan on your biggest goals.
To apply or learn more about the program, you can schedule a call with me here. Enrollment ends on January 31st or when spots fill up.
Curious to hear more about what it’s like to work with me?
Here’s what my client Marie Heintges shared about us working together:
“Before we started working together I was in a place of feeling stuck and low in energy. Leannah offered a clear step-by-step process to break down my big goal into actual action steps. She holds a space for you, truly listens and knows how to direct the process in a clear, thoughtful and understandable way.”
I’m grateful and honored to have helped hundreds of clients and students take deliberate action towards their dream lives. And I’m excited to connect with you to potentially do the same.
These last couple of years have been pretty wild for us all. And a lesson I learned through it is to be more self-compassionate and go at my own pace if I need to.
I want to share this reminder with you. This isn’t a race. There is no finish line. There are no winners or losers. Where you are now is exactly where we need to be.
In my interview with Susanne Rieker, business coach, podcast coast and world traveler, she shares her life journey and the big successes she experienced only after she turned 40.
When you listen to the episode, you’ll hear Susanne talk about the details of how she was able to move out of her full time job in advertising (where she worked 60-70 hours per week), to starting her online business, traveling the world full-time and even becoming a yoga teacher. You’ll also learn about what it takes to change your mindset when going through a total life transformation.
If you feel like hitting the ground running this time of year, go for it! And if you feel like hanging back, reflecting and contemplating your next move, amazing. Do that!
Wherever you’re at, I support you. And if you’re moving through this next chapter of your life needing more clarity, direction or guidance to help you transition, let’s talk!
I’d love to hear from you. Click here to set up a free coaching chat with me.
Can you believe we’re only a couple of days away from 2022? It’s pretty insane how this past year came and went.
It seems like only yesterday we were dealing with the shock of 2020, holding our breaths and waiting for things to get better. Learning how to bake bread, attending zoom weddings and buying plants became the normal ways to cope with the global pandemic.
Personally, I grew a lot this year. I started my podcast, hired my first team and met my amazing partner, Mario.
I also stumbled: I broke my nose, had a failed launch and lost touch with some friends that were once a big part of my life.
Through these ups and downs I learned very valuable lessons. These are gifts that I’m taking with me into 2022 and beyond.
I created a whole podcast episode on these lessons and the practices I used to integrate them into my life. I hope that after listening, you might get some value out of them too.
Enjoy and have a Happy New Year!
