Unlike other winter sliding sports like luge and bobsleigh, the skeleton is a single-person event, where nothing separates the rider from the rock hard ice below them but a small sled that blasts just inches above the track as riders can reach up to 80 miles per hour—while riding head first. As a member of Team USA, Megan Henry is of the sport’s most recognizable stars, but she’s just as impressive away from the track as she is on it. But, to get to where she is today, Megan has had to overcome obstacles that most people can’t imagine.
