There are two opposing forces and clear polarities in the world: push or release.
When we're faced with challenge or struggle, should we keep trying and keep pushing forward or should we see a challenge as an opportunity to release, to take a big step backwards and reassess?
I've asked myself this question on numerous occasions and whenever I can I ask others for their thoughts and input as well. No matter how much time I've spent pondering the thought or how many wise people I've asked, I've never come to one straightforward answer. In some ways it's probably because there isn't one... So how can we reconcile both schools of thought in order to do what's right for us when we're faced with challenge?
In this episode I share some concrete examples of what it might look like to be caught between a force of "push" (feeling the need to keep powering through) and the force of "release" (feeling the need to take a big step back and stop trying). I also share 3 strategies that I've implemented myself and that I go through with my clients in order to find our own solution to the dilemma: Should I keep pushing or should I take a step back?

As humans we are wired to preserve energy and choose the path of least resistance. How come then, there are some who choose a unique path, one in the pursuit of something important, meaningful but definitely not easy?
We call them Inspiring Minds. In this new series, every month we will be speaking with those who have veered off the path of least resistance in the pursuit of more.
In this episode we are speaking with James Colquhoun; founder and CEO of Food Matters and the film maker behind documentaries Food Matters and Hungry Change as well as the docu-series Transcendence Season I and Transcendence Season II.
In this episode, we discuss finding balance in a world filled with duality. How can we drive our business to success using the logical, numbers-driven part of our mind while letting our intuition guide us to make the best decisions? How can we draw the line between "work" and "personal life"? Is there even a line anymore? What's the balance between being driven by the pursuit of something meaningful and finding contentment where we are?
All of this and more in this 3rd episode of the Inspiring Minds series...

How can one be afraid of success? Isn't success, regardless of the definition we hold for it, regardless of the area of our life in which we desire it, what we're all striving for? Don't we all want happy, healthy relationships, a supportive social circle, a career path that lights us up?
You'd be surprised to hear that the fear of success is a lot more common than you may think and it may even be something holding you back, without you even knowing it.
In this episode I share with you the reasons why we struggle with the fear of success, how it might show up in our daily lives and the 3 journaling questions I recommend you work through to start overcoming this fear:

When speaking about fears, the one we tend to be the most familiar with is the fear of failure. This fear of failure is what drives us to procrastinate, to stay small and to duck away from opportunities that might demand us to tap into our full potential.
In this podcast episode I go through the reasons why the fear of failure is something that we need, that has saved us in the past and is still of great benefit to us in our modern day lives... yet it does not come without its limitations.
I share with you the 3 lessons that completely shifted my view on failure as well as the 6 steps to reflect over the fear of failure you might be facing in a given situation:

In the second episode of this series all about overcoming fears, we're talking about the fear of rejection. This fear is what blocks us when we sense a threat that something we do might cause us to be rejected by the tribe. It's driven by the fear of being alone and can cause us to fall into the traps of people pleasing, of consistently changing our identity to fit the group and ironically enough, distancing ourselves from other to avoid the pain of rejection.
This fear can show up in many different places in our lives. It can be the reason why...
So what can we do about this fear and how can we ensure that it doesn't stand in the way from us doing what will support our emotional, spiritual and personal growth?
There's no snap-finger solution, but what I'm sharing in this episode are 6 lessons that I've learned that can help minimise the fear, put it into context and support us to move beyond it.

In this 4-part series, we will be going deep into different types of fears, where they come from, what they look like and how can we overcome them.
In this first episode we're speaking about the Fear of the Unknown. This fear commonly shows up when we're considering trying something new or when we're faced with an alternative that is outside of our comfort zone. This fear creeps in during these moments to keep us safe and to remind us that we're "better off" staying in the zone of the "known" if we want to make it as likely as possible that we will remain "safe". Naturally in today's day and age, few of the "riskier" decisions we are making actually make us "unsafe", they simply lead us to something else, something new, something unknown.
In this episode I go through 6 reflections I recommend you go through if you think this is something you're currently struggling with:
