  • Working with your cycle not against it with Lou Perham

This episode we are speaking with Cyclical Living Coach and Mentality Mentor Lou Perham about what it means to work with your menstrual cycle instead of against it.

In this episode Lou describes how to find and connect with our superpower at every stage of our cycle and gives us the permission to "be more tree" AKA unapologetically ourselves.

Lou helps to completely reframe our view of the female cycle from something that causes us pain, makes us emotional and "forces us" to slow down - into a magical internal sustainability system that keeps us present, grounded and connected to ourselves and others.

  • Saving the best for last

In this episode we are discussing the idea of “saving the best for last” known as “delayed gratification”. I speak about this scale from “instant gratification” to “delayed gratification” and where our natural tendency lies on this scale. We look at the positive implications of practicing “delayed gratification” but also what it might look like when “delayed gratification” goes too far…

If you’re someone who always saves the best for last, there is a change that your natural tendency will always drive you to delay gratification to the point where it might have an inverse affect.

  • 4 ways to change your patterns

In this episode I go through 4 concrete ways that you can change your patterns. No matter what kind of change you're trying create within you, whether it's an emotional state, a reaction, a habit or a behaviour that you find unhelpful - there are ways to create lasting change and in this episode I share 4 of them.

    1. Understand WHY you want to make the change (dig deep until you reach a base emotion).
    2. Realise that the pattern you're trying to change is probably linked to a strength you have. Understand what is the corresponding strength and notice where the bell curve drops off and the strength turns into a negative pattern.
    3. Exercise: write a letter to your future self, after you have confronted a moment that will challenge the change you're trying to create. Write this letter as though your future self, who has overcome this challenge, is writing to your current self who has not yet gone through the challenge.
    4. Create a new default, a new pattern that will come to replace the one you currently have.

  • Am I capable of change? Or is this just who I am?

In today's episode we tackle potentially the most important question in all of Personal Development: Am I capable of change?

This is something that many of my clients ask me, especially as we start our coaching journey together and we dig deep into what are their patterns, what are their natural tendencies and what kind of impact these patterns and tendencies have on their life.

This episode looks at what is meant by natural tendency and how we can work with them rather than against them. I share the analogy of the sailboat to explain the impact that tendencies have on our actions and how we can create change.

  • Asking better questions

This episode is all about the power of the questions we ask ourselves and how we can ask ourselves better questions in order create a shift in our frame of reference. We know that when we change the way we view our surroundings we can create real change to our inner world. By changing the way we see the world around us will change the our experience and our reality.

In this episode I go through 4 different scenarios:

    1. Feeling stuck or doubtful
    2. Feeling angry / hard done by
    3. Feeling Insulted / vexed
    4. Feeling Stressed / anxious

and I share the concrete questions that I love to ask my questions and what I encourage them to ask themselves.

  • Patterns I've overcame and patterns I'm overcoming

This is a slightly more personal episode where I'm sharing the 5 patterns I've overcome and the 3 patterns I'm working on at the moment.

When I say "overcome" I don't mean these patterns don't sneak but up, they do, but through the integration of specific tools, frame of mind shifts and key lessons I've been able to move from a place where these patterns "take me over" (living in my unconscious) to a place where I am able to navigate them consciously.

Hopefully as I share the specific ways that I've overcome these patterns and also share the patterns I'm still working on, it'll give you a glimpse into my mind, a glimpse into what it means to "work on yourself" and some key take aways that will support you to overcome some destructive patterns of your own.
