The Villain Was Right

This week on the podcast we're talking about the classic Christopher Guest mockumentary BEST IN SHOW. We're defending unhinged dog show commentators, spouses with wide ranging romantic proclivities and going on a deep dive on humanity's deep-seated but ultimately futile desire to categorize things.

We're joined by special guest John Mostyn (@JMostynComedy) who is here to spread the gospel of PADDINGTON 2. We're discussing the movie's charming, fuzzy and cozy protagonist and defending the out-of-work actor who just wants funding for the arts.

This week on the podcast we're discussing the classic Jim Carrey/ Kate Winslet sci-fi romance(?!?) ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND. We discuss why you probably shouldn't forget your exes, and argue for our two protagonists to never-ever-ever get back together.

We're kicking off the New Year with the classic 90s action flick DEMOLITION MAN. We're talking about how the 21st century's most ruthless criminal is a product of society and a flawed justice system, supporting police accountability and getting into the whole Taco Bell vs. Pizza Hut issue.

It's that weird week between Christmas and New Years where nothing is really happening and so you sit around watching Hilary Duff movies. That's right! This week we're talking about RAISE YOUR VOICE. We're defending her perfectly reasonable father - who does not want his 16 year old daughter to move to LA for a month without any adult supervision mere weeks after her brother died in a car crash - and her romantic/professional rival who works harder and is a better singer.

We continue our Kinda Christmas Movie month with a movie we both swear was set during Christmas but is apparently not - SMALL SOLDIERS! We're defending the Globotech CEO - who wants truth in advertising and takes immediate and full responsibility for his mistakes - and the eponymous small soldier toys who are just doing what they were programmed to do.

We're kicking off Kinda Christmas Movie month with special guest, and "Hallmark" movie expert, Rachel Manson (@rmansella). We're discussing the year's most talked about Holiday flick - HOT FROSTY. We're defending the small town sheriff who is rightly suspicious of the naked vagrant with no confirmable identity, running around with school children claiming to be a snowman.

This week on the podcast we're discussing Robin Williams' turn as the "absent minded professor" in the 1997 family film FLUBBER. We're rooting for romantic rivals who don't forget their own wedding, defending scientists who can actually commercialize important breakthroughs and criticizing the professor's sloppy and dangerous methodology. Plus Craig gets into the "Flubber" of it all.
