35 small political parties expressed their unhappiness to the IEC on what they say are flaws in the electoral process and are calling for a rerun of the polls. The group includes the BLF, ATM, NFP, ACM and Land Party. They want an independent auditor appointed to audit the results. They say they will approach the Electoral Court and, if need be, the Constitutional Court, to nullify the elections. South Africa's middle-income consumers on average spend 25% of their take home monthly income to pay interest accumulated on debt. This is according to FNB's analysis of money management behaviour of its Retail banking customers who earn between R7 000 and R60 000 per month. The bank says its data paints a picture of households that are heavily reliant on unsecured debt to get through each month. The IEC says a total of 22 people have been arrested for alleged double voting during the general elections. Among these are 17 people from Dannhauser in Kwazulu Natal. Earlier figures put the number of people arrested at 20. Last year President Cyril Ramaphosa authorised an investigation by the Special Investigating Unit into alleged maladministration at the Media, Information and Communication Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority (MICT SETA). Caster Semenya shrugged off the unfavourable Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruling when she won the Women's 800m race at the IAAF Diamond League race in Doha. Semenya, the double Olympic champion at the distance, was added to the 800m start list, two days after her appeal against a new rule regulating testosterone levels for women athletes was rejected by the Court for Arbitration of Sport (CAS). Semenya had challenged the measures, introduced by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), that will force women with higher than normal male hormone levels -- so-called "hyper-andro-genic" athletes -- to artificially lower the amount of testosterone in their bodies if they are to continue competing. The rules will come into effect on May 8 and will apply to races over distances of 400m to the mile.
