Went live at the 22nd Orlando Fire Conference to do a Scrap live on location with an in-person audience and also the facebook audience. The panel was Walt Lewis, Matty Johnson and Rob Ramirez. They fielded questions from both audiences, and they were not soft tosses!!! The panel crushed it as they discussed everything from the state of brotherhood, suicide and females in the fire service. Was a great evening!
Joined on this episode by the one and only Cody Trestrail to discuss being passionate for the fire service and the adversity that must be overcome. It was an excellent and inspiring scrap and I have been looking forward to having Cody on for quite some time. Unbelievably good time! Enjoy!
Joined by one of my favorite people on this planet, Chief Scott Thompson. We discuss training, developing a fire first culture, promotional processes, the future of education in the fire service... and of course everything that the audience threw at us! The internet did us no favors and listening live was tough. I edited out most of the rough patches... there are a few spots that some content was dropped but it is 98% intact! Enjoy!
It's the return of Grant Schwalbe, Facebook would not let his original scrap happen, but he is back! Was an awesome conversation. I have already borrowed (stolen) so much from Grant, and I look forward to even more! The audience showed up as always and brought amazing questions. Enjoy!
Joined on this episode by Christopher Snow creator of the Rogue Tailboard. We are going to discuss faith, passion and commitment to the craft. We will discuss keys to staying ignited, and how to weather the detractors. Plus, as always the great interaction, questions and thoughts from the audience!
Joined by Benjamin Martin to go deep diving into the psychology of leadership. Group culture, motivation, and whatever rabbit holes we can find to dive into. As always, the show was driven by the awesome questions from the audience.
Joined on this episode by Joe Wisz, aka Driver Joe! Was an awesome episode as we dove into the transition from Volly to FDNY, the traditions along the way, and all of the transitions in his career. He talked about the responsibilities of the senior man, and the honor and traditions of the fire service. The audience was amazing as always, with the on point questions!
Bringing in the new year in style with my friend David Pruitt. It was an amazing scrap with solid discussion on live fire training, and how to best make it happen. We discussed acquired structures and 1403, and of course all the questions and comments from the audience! Take the time to check this one out. As I sit and upload it, it is one of my favorites to have been a part of.
Joined by the one and only Tim Klett! We talked Engine Operations and firehouse Leadership! And of course all the questions and comments that the audience decided to throw our way!
Joined by Manny Barajas to discuss nozzle-work and engine duties. Everything from the first line, to fireground priorities, functional training, and we will probably discuss a corn harvester at some point! Look forward to the audience questions and everything we will discuss!
