Hailing from Heston in West London, The Bluetones (Scott Morriss – bass, Eds Chesters – drums, Adam Devlin – guitars, and Mark Morriss – vocals) arrived on the scene in 1995 with their debut single 'Are You Blue Or Are You Blind?'. They followed this up with 'Bluetonic' and then 'Slight Return', which reached # 2 on the UK singles chart.
The debut album 'Expecting To Fly' was released in February 1996 and went straight to # 1. To celebrate the album's 25th anniversary, a 3LP blue vinyl lift-off lid box set will be released. The box contains the original 1996 album, a 12-track LP of non-album A- and B-sides, as well as the collection of pre-fame demos 'The Early Garage Years'.
Hailing from County Armagh in Northern Ireland, Conchúr White achieved notable success in Ireland with his previous band Silences, who split in 2019. Upon parting ways, Conchúr felt an outpouring of creativity and began working on solo material - with Conchúr's 2020 debut 'Bikini Crops' EP the initial result of those writing sessions.
EP 'Dreamers' is set to shed further light on that period of his life. Recorded across various different studios in the UK and US, Conchúr worked with producers including Kevin McMahon (Frightened Rabbit, Real Estate) and Simon Dine (Paul Weller), with EP finally being mixed by Matt Wiggins (London Grammar, Glass Animals, The Horrors).
Former Things was written, performed and recorded entirely by LoneLady. Whereas previous albums at least allowed the appearance of another human, the soundworld of Former Things was entirely crafted by LoneLady during her time spent in Somerset House Studios Rifle Range, an 18th-century shooting range that has now been adapted into an experimental performance space. The album was inspired by a seismic move for LoneLady, who left her native Manchester, decamping to London's Somerset House Studios in search of a new cityscape to inspire her poised machine funk.
After shooting to the forefront of the UK folk/Americana scene with their debut album 'Wild Silence', The Wandering Hearts headed to the genre's spiritual home of Woodstock at the start of 2020 to work on a follow-up. The result is their forthcoming self-titled album, which will be released on July 30th.
The 16-track album - a mix of dynamic guitar riffs, 80s synth-pop and melodic alt-rock - was written throughout 2020 and recorded by Dave in his San Diego home studio. Because of the wealth of material he's written in the last year, Dave felt it was important to get as much music out as possible and shared three of the tracks with Rolling Stone - "Ends Of The Earth," "Bad Instincts," and "No One Is Calling You A Liar".
