To say Mike Servito has had a big couple of years is a supreme understatement. As soon as the world took notice of the Detroit (by way of Brooklyn) DJ, they really took notice – The Bunker’s clinch-hitter resident has barely had a weekend off since. Though Servito’s career has undoubtedly evolved, he’s been notably consistent in the booth, dishing out master classes in whip-cracking, 303-infused house and techno that sound equally at home in a sweaty basement as on a festival stage. Few DJs play as extensively over Movement weekend as Servito, so we’re thrilled he’s blocked off an hour with The Bunker’s Bryan Kasenic in our Detroit studio to help set the tone for the proceedings.

Even within the ultra-niche world of underground dance music, Scott Zacharias isn’t a household name. Those who have had the pleasure of seeing him play, though, don’t soon forget it. A founding member of Detroit’s Macho City crew and a yearly highlight of Movement weekend’s infamous No Way Back all-nighter, where he closes the ambient room with a palate-cleansing space disco set, Zacharias values quality over quantity in his DJ bookings, and he consistently plays records that cause even the most itinerant record nerds to peer into the booth looking for an ID. The Bunker’s Bryan Kasenic couldn’t be any more excited to host him as part of his week of broadcasts from Detroit – tune in for what’s sure to be a glorious DJ set, live from our Motor City studio.

The new project from Jeffrey Sfire and Ian Clark is a deadly fierce take on Italo, electro and synth wave. Hear it live from the Motor City.

Ian Clark (AKA longtime Interdimensional Transmissions affiliate Perspects) and Jeffrey Sfire describe their new project Looky Looky as equal parts light and dark. Their debut LP Part Flamingo is a case in point: a contemporary recasting of Italo, Hi-NRG and electro, it infuses bright ‘80s sonic textures with a seedy, sweaty thump. The Detroit duo is about a year into the project, but it’s already got all the makings of a hit following on a pair of riotous sets at Honcho’s all-star Summer Campout last year and the 2017 edition of Gays Hate Techno in northern California. Looky Looky is poised for a big summer – Flamingo Boots, a maxi-single of extended edits from their album, is due out on Dark Entries this June – and lucky for us, they’re kicking it off from our Detroit studio with a hardware-heavy live set.

A deep talent in Detroit techno, with tracks signed to FXHE, Planet E and many more, the Michigander joins us for a DJ set and interview.

Launched in 2016, Brian Kage’s label Michigander showcases the role his home state plays in his music, and its recently released second record features three solo productions from its proprietor. The label makes overt what anyone who’s scanned Kage’s discography would have known all along: he’s Michigan – and specifically Detroit – through and through. Kage has put out music through Detroit labels like FXHE, Planet E and Beretta Music (which he manages), and he’s forged a close bond with Detroit talent from Seth Troxler to Luke Hess, the latter his partner in the production duo Reference. Live from our radio studio in the D, he’ll tell The Bunker’s Bryan Kasenic how the city factors into his musical life and play a DJ set that’s sure to be heavy on local sounds.

The veteran DJ, broadcaster, label boss and champion of women in dance music brings her punchy house sound to our Detroit radio studio.

DJ Minx’s roots in Detroit dance music run deep. She counts the city’s foundational Music Institute club as her inspiration for DJing, a skill she’d ply during her residency at Hamtramck’s famed Club Motor, as the host of WGPR’s Deep Space Radio, at the inaugural Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2000 and later at gigs from Berlin to Tokyo. In 2001, she founded Women On Wax as an outlet for her own effervescent productions (including classics like “A Walk In the Park” from 2003, which was later rereleased by Richie Hawtin’s Minus imprint) and those by unsung talent from her hometown. As Minx enters perhaps the busiest week on her calendar each year – the one ramping up to Movement festival – she’s squeezed in an hour to spend in our Detroit radio studio with The Bunker’s Bryan Kasenic to discuss her long history in the city’s music scene and log some time behind the decks.

The veteran Dutch selector drops by our NYC studio for an interview and set culled from his magic bag of dark electro and Italo delectables.

With more than three decades of experience behind the decks in The Hague, John Scheffer, AKA Intergalactic Gary, has built up an enviable collection of Italo, electro and techno records, and forged a unique path through them. A longtime affiliate of the influential internet radio platform Intergalactic FM and close musical partner of Dutch electro master I-F, Intergalactic Gary has been getting well-deserved accolades over the last few years, resulting in an increasingly busy touring schedule throughout Europe and farther afield. His travels have finally brought him onto a lineup at The Bunker, whose founder Bryan Kasenic describes him as a dream booking. Ahead of his set for The Bunker in Brooklyn this weekend, he’ll drop into the radio booth for a chat with Bryan and a set that’s sure to keep the trainspotters among us glued to Discogs.

Amourette and Maroje T from Brooklyn’s exceptional Remedy party join Bryan Kasenic in our New York studio for an electro-heavy showcase.

Remedy might not be widely known outside of Brooklyn’s tight-knit techno scene, but it’s quietly become one of the borough’s best showcases for dark-hued, cutting-edge dance music. The party happens less regularly than others in the borough, but when Maroje T and Amourette put together a lineup, it’s always something special and ahead of the curve. Remedy was the first crew in New York to book Recondite, Drvg Cvlture and Berlin’s mysterious Annanan, and they were early champions of the Zenker Brothers, Lobster Theremin’s Privacy and Lux Rec boss Daniele Cosmo. They’ve has also regularly hosted Bunker artists like Patrick Russell, Eric Cloutier and Justin Cudmore. Maroje T and Amourette are killer DJs in their own right, too, with big collections of electro and techno from the rawer end of the spectrum. Tune in for electro-heavy DJ sets from both residents, plus forthcoming music from Maroje T and an interview covering the party’s history, when Remedy links up with The Bunker’s Bryan Kasenic in our New York studio.

Low end legends: Dub War founder Dave Q and far-out sounds voyager Ghost Producer AKA Raz Mesinai join Bryan Kasenic in the studio.

There’s nothing wrong with your internet connection – Bryan Kasenic has invited Dave Q and Ghost Producer, a couple of New York’s most gifted bass explorers, to bless our airwaves for an extra-specially blunted edition of his broadcast. Dave Q was one of the first Americans to catch wind of dubstep, and in 2005 he started Dub War to showcase artists like Mala, Skream, Kode9 and Shackleton on their earliest North American gigs. Continuing to follow bass music’s myriad mutations as a DJ, he remains a fierce advocate of dark, heavy and experimental club sounds. His collaborator on the Index label and good friend Raz Mesinai has been mining the depths of bass as a producer, composer, film scorer and multidisciplinary artist for decades. Best known in electronic music circles as Badawi, the Middle Eastern-inspired alias he retired in 2011, and a founding member of New York’s Underground Producers Alliance, he recently began a new project called Ghost Producer to push a style he calls freakatone. Both artists will present their sound and hop on the mic with Kasenic to talk low-end and beyond.

Brothers possessing an encyclopedic knowledge of music across the spectrum, Karl & Ken Meier join Bryan Kasenic in our New York studio.

Born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago, longtime collaborators and real-life brothers Ken and Karl Meier – who also records and performs as half of Talker, a duo with Jonathan “Stave” Crohn – developed a mutual obsession with music from their parents’ record collection, digging into rock & roll before moving onto synthpop and, eventually, the more electronic end of the spectrum. Working together at the Windy City’s reputable Gramaphone Records only increased their vinyl enthusiasm and expertise, simultaneously honed with weekly broadcasts on frequencies like WNUR and WHPK. Though the opportunity to DJ came somewhat unexpectedly to Karl, he and his brother took to it: they were the first Chicagoans to play out with Pioneer CDJs and hosted the Fear of Music event series (and now podcast) featuring a mix of regional and international producers including Surgeon, Function, Anthony “Shake” Shakir and BMG. Now based in New York City and Berlin, respectively, Ken and Karl come together in the studio for a wide-ranging, hard-hitting collaborative DJ set and an interview with Bryan Kasenic.

L.A.G. label boss Arthur Kimskii joins Bryan Kasenic for a DJ set and introduction to his sound, live from our NYC studio.

Techno has been a constant in Arthur Kimskii’s life for the better part of two decades. During an 11-year stint as a New Yorker, he launched the record label L.A.G., paired up with Cory James (of past Bunker radio guests Dusk Notes) to form the DJ/production duo Point Break and brought over the likes of Shifted, ASC and Virginia for key stateside gigs. Next stop was Berlin, where Kimskii spent his days working at the infamous Record Loft and his nights playing at some of the city’s best underground techno clubs, like ://about blank, Griessmühle and Ohm. The Berlin period was a critical one: He released his first solo productions, spun his first four-hour-plus extended sets and – as one does in a place known for its abundance of great record shops – accumulated a whole lot of vinyl. When he moved back to the states recently, he managed to slim down his Berlin collection to just a bag and a half. He’ll be playing from those cream-of-the-crop selections when he joins Bunker founder Bryan Kasenic for a DJ set and interview from our NYC studio.
