  • S2 Ep1134: 700 Million People Live Without Basic Access to Clean and Safe Drinking Water! Scott Harrison
    After a decade of indulging his darkest vices as a nightclub promoter, Scott declared spiritual, moral, and emotional bankruptcy. He spent two years on a hospital ship off the coast of Liberia, saw the effects of dirty water firsthand, and came back to New York City on a mission. Upon returning to NYC in 2006, having seen the effects of dirty water firsthand, Scott turned his full attention to the global water crisis and the (then) 1.1 billion people living without access to clean water. He established a small core team in a tiny Manhattan apartment and created charity: water. Sixteen years later, with the help of more than 1 million supporters worldwide, charity: water has raised over $740 million and funded over 137,000 water projects in 29 countries. When completed, those projects will provide over 17.4 million people with clean, safe drinking water.

  • S2: BONUS Q&A November 2023
    Welcome to a sneak peek of the Bonus Q&A episode, part of the Theology in the Raw premium subscription.

    In the full episode, we discuss:
    00:00 Introduction:
    0:35. What pushback did you get on your Israel/Palestine interviews?
    9:21  CS Lewis commends the reading of Old Books. What are your favorite ‘classics?’ Would you say there are any ‘most Christians’ should read?
    12:20  What is the biblical basis for people stating that the 1st ministry priority is one’s nuclear family? What is a good theology of family?
    20:11  Thoughts on Church Discipline from 1 Cor 5? What about when someone believes they aren’t living in sin, but I think they are? To them it wouldn’t be unrepentant
    25:37  What is Jesus' lesson in Luke 16:8? Can't imagine He's actually condoning the behavior of the dishonest manager? I'm stumped.
    27:14  Was the Revolutionary War (American Independence) justified in your eyes?
    29:40  When Jesus talks about the “Abomination of Desecration” being in the Temple as a future event- how are we supposed to think about this?
    33:47  I feel like I fear hell more than love God. Do you have tips on how to switch that around? I grew up in a very fear based context, hell house productions, etc
    37:30  Do you think street evangelism is a beneficial way to share the Gospel, or should we only focus on relationship-based evangelism?
    44:44  Do you believe any part of the Bible is NOT God breathed/authoritative? (I.e. added in later, not original.)
    49:55  Do you vote in elections? Thoughts on the 2024 election?
    56:06  Is the view that Jesus is eternally subordinate truth or heresy? What is the biblical basis either way?
    1:00:27  If we somehow discovered one of the lost correspondences of Paul, would it be Scripture? What if it offered contradictions to his writings?
    1:02:19  Rapid Fire Questions

  • S2 Ep1132: Responding to Claims about Being a “Heretical Liar”
    Jared is a pastor in Tennessee. On November 13th, Jared posted this comment on X:

    According to Dr. Rosaria Butterfield, What Christian ministries are heretical liars? "Revoice, Preston Sprinkle's Exiles in Babylon Conference sponsored by his heretical Center for Faith, Sexuality, and Gender, and CRU"
    @PrestonSprinkle
    @crutweets

    That's what she said at
    @LibertyU convocation this past Friday.

    What heresies/lies have they spread? 1) "Same-sex attraction is a sinless temptation, and only a sin if you act on it?" 2) "People who experience same-sex attraction are actually gay-Christians called to life-long celibacy?" 3) "People who experience same-sex attraction, rarely, if ever, change, and therefore, should never pursue, heterosexual marriage." 4) "Sex and gender are different, and God doesn't care if men live as men or if women live as women, because all you need to do is grow in the fruit of the Spirit, as if the fruit of the Holy Spirit can grow from sin."

    There are several things represented in this post that I have never said nor believe, and therefore I asked Jared to come on my podcast to talk about these errors that are said about me.

    Jared’s original post where he agrees that I’m a “heretical liar”: https://twitter.com/jaredhmoore/status/1724124156470444527

    Jared’s post where he lies about my ministry, The Center for Faith, Sexuality & Gender, “advocate[ing] for…non-sexual romance, cuddling & kissing, and snuggling in bed:” https://twitter.com/jaredhmoore/status/1724042446223368248

    And here is the paper written by Dr. Greg Coles and published by The Center for Faith, Sexuality & Gender regarding celibate relationships (regarding the cuddling and kissing comment above), which Jared and I discuss toward the end of the podcast: https://www.centerforfaith.com/resources?field_product_category_tid=1

    Jared’s post where he publicly says Rachel Gilson is “legitimizing gay marriage,” which is factually wrong: https://twitter.com/jaredhmoore/status/1724088931816276476

    Here are a few books I’ve written on the topic of sexuality and gender, which clearly argue against the very viewpoints that Jared says I believe:

    Here is a two-part series I did on Theology in the Raw on why I believe in the historically Christian view of marriage: Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wuu6LUfEm2A&t=1s Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvuc1S1-408
