Chris and Nell talk with D.R. Michel, Executive Director of the Upper Columbia United Tribes and he negotiations going on between the U.S. and Canada over the Columbia River Treaty. Although these tribes have depended on the Columbia River for clean water and salmon for the past 50-years, the Columbia River Treaty has excluded tribal participation in its tribal in its governance and implementation. This year is no different and they asked Michel why this continues to occur.
Chris and Nell speak with David Nimkin, Southwest Regional Director of the National Parks Conservation Association about a bipartisan bill introduced by congress that would provide funding to repair aging infrastructure in America’s more than 4-hundred national park sites. The Restore Our Parks and Public Lands Act would provide 5.2 billion dollars in dedicated funding to address the maintenance backlog.
In The past two weeks, more than two dozen pieces of legislation and policy initiatives designed to weaken the Endangered Species Act have been voted on in Congress or proposed by the White House. Chris and Nell Speak with Rebecca Riley, staff attorney with the Natural Resources Defense Council about these proposed bills and the impacts they would have to the ESA .
The first guests are Clint McAfee and Michelle DeHaan, with Park City Municipal, and both involved in the plans to expand and upgrade Park City’s treatment and expansion of its potable water treatment system.

Bob Deans, associate director of communications with the Natural Resources Defense Council joins Chris and Nell to discuss Pruitt’s resignation, Andrew Wheeler’s designation and what it means for environmental protection.
Executive Director Janae Ridge of EATS Park City and Lynsey Gammon of Summit Community Gardens join Chris to discuss their collaborative efforts to bring healthier meals to kids while at school.
Chris visits with Melani Tankel, an ironman athlete and the owner of Plant Your Base, a company that specializes in the production of “wild pies”, small, fruit based pies that, among things, are locally sourced and pesticide free.
