SERIES - Worshiping In Mr. Rogers Neighborhood: What Do You Do With The Mad That You Feel?
In 1968, the Vietnam War was being fought; Bobby Kennedy had been shot. Mr. Rogers realized that children were aware of these events, but they had no place where it was safe to talk about these issues. We avoid those things we don’t understand and what we fear. On the program, King Friday builds a wall to keep out what he didn’t like or understand. How does fear build walls? How important is it for the church to be a place where we discuss those things we fear and about which we may be angry?
One of our #WholeLifeTakeAways this week asked: In the pursuit of neighborliness, this week who will you seek to understand better so you can be a better neighbor to them?
So, who can you reach out to this week? It may need to be a phone call, a video chat, or maybe a socially distanced, masked faced, cup of coffee, or walk in the park.…the pandemic has changed things for sure, but not so much that we shouldn’t be seeking ways for God to use us. Has someone reached out to you as a neighbor during the pandemic? We would love to hear your story! Send us your thoughts by using one of the following:

SERIES - #ThisIsWholeLife: Living In The Now - Part IV
This pandemic has pulled the curtain on the myth of independent living. We are beings created for community. How can we allow space to grieve what we have lost but still refocus and move forward? How is God calling us to fix our eyes on him and to partner with him in sharing hope and grace?
One of our #WholeLifeTakeAways this week asked: How are you currently creating more opportunities for safely connecting?
How about you? How have you been able to stay connected to your circles during the pandemic? Please share not only what you’ve done, but the impact it’s had on you. Its easy to here someone say they’ve done A or B, but it’s the story and the impact for the better that can help people see the reward in making the effort. SERIES - #ThisIsWholeLife: Living In The Now - Part III
COVID is a crisis that touches us all. So is racial injustice. As we work toward a cure for the virus, how might honest conversations begin to heal and wipe out racial injustice? Maybe the first thing we all need to agree on is the necessity of surrendering to God. This week Andy sits down with WholeLife member Linda Ryan for a Q & A you don’t want to miss.
One of our #WholeLifeTakeAways this week asked: How would your reaction to the COVID crisis be affected by the realization of God’s constant presence?
So how about you? Have you been able to ‘surrender’ to God and let Him take over? We would love to hear how you have been able to surrender yourself, and extend that confidence in God to your family, your co-workers, neighbors, or anyone who has needed to find respite during these stressful times. SERIES - #ThisIsWholeLife: Living In The Now - Part II
The current crisis has forced our lives into a “new normal.” Though some have found good things in the forced pause, change isn’t always welcome and can sometimes cause resentment. How does looking outside of ourselves and to the work and sacrifice of others change this perspective? How might we be conveyors of encouragement?
Sit down with pastor Andy and WholeLIfe members Dr. Vincent and Grace Hsu who are both front line workers in the fight against #COVID19.

SERIES: What Really Matters - Pause To Love
When God created us, we were never meant to be constant workers, or doers, or even creators. After six days of full-on production, God stops and, by ceasing from all that is done, quite ironically creates the perfect antidote for humanity's obsession to labor, to gratify, to obtain, and to literally wear down our own bodies. And God calls it holy.

SERIES: What Matters Most - Hope In The Now
Everything we’ve read and heard from the time we were small is now challenged by what we’ve been dubbing “The New Normal.” How do we pick up the pieces and make sense of our lives when the pieces don’t seem to fit any longer?

SERIES: What Matters Most - Finding Trust In Your Faith Community. Acts 6:1-7
During a time of crisis and pain, faith communities should be those places of refuge where we find our greatest strength and stability. These types of communities can provide warmth, acceptance, and belonging. However, at other times they can be the very thing that causes us to feel alone, lost, and sometimes even threatened or endangered. How does this happen in what has been referred to as “The Body of Christ”? How do we restore what God intended?
One of our #WholeLifeTakeAways this week asked: Why do you think the majority culture segments racial injustice as “their” problem?
So, what do you think about ‘their’ problem and how do you think we can separate ourselves from that idea? Send us your questions, comments, or share a way that you’ve been able to see things as ‘we’ by using one of the following:

Our world is in chaos following the death of yet another man of color at the hands of police. On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, an African-American man, was killed in the Powderhorn community of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
While Floyd was handcuffed and lying face down on a city street during an arrest, Derek Chauvin, a white American Minneapolis police officer, kept his knee on the right side of Floyd's neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds. According to the criminal complaint against Chauvin, 2 minutes and 53 seconds of that time occurred after Floyd became unresponsive.
There is so much pain and injustice that it seems like there is no place to turn. We don't have all the answers but in this episode we will introduce you to Craig Moore. A successful healthcare executive and member at WholeLife Church. Craig will share insights and details of his journey that are all too familiar to African American men across our country.
Conversations involving race are difficult but necessary if we have hope for progress. A special thank you to Craig for his willingness to share, educate, and guide this critical conversation.
