Threads of Fate

In this episode, Kira is joined by the astrologer Skye Barclay to discuss Venus retrograde and the current Venus retrograde in Scorpio and Libra. They discuss what makes this retrograde so important along with general Venus retrograde themes. Skye wrote an entire book dedicated to this retrograde called A Dance of Daggers and Delights, which we reference throughout the episode. If you'd like to get a copy, you can find that here: https://www.skyeastrology.com/venusrx

As a note: this episode was originally intended to be a bonus episode, but my ongoing Wi-Fi struggles meant that I couldn't record any additional episodes so this is going up as a regularly scheduled Tuesday post! This also means that Threads of Fate will likely be on a brief and temporary hiatus until my Wi-Fi comes back online in the back half of October. Thanks for hanging in there with me!

In this episode of Threads of Fate, Kira is joined by the astrologer Chloe Margherita to break down the astrology of October 2026. They discuss the long-awaited Venus retrograde, the new moon in Libra and full moon in Taurus, along with all the other major planetary moments of the month.

A Note From Kira: Hi, everyone! Chloe joined me this month because I have not had access to WiFi for several weeks now and needed someone who could upload the recording. That being said, the connection isn't great because it was on my personal hotspot and the video version ended up being unwatchable for the first 20 minutes or so. I figured a less than perfect forecast was better than no forecast at all, but sorry for the less than stellar quality! May Chloe's brilliance make up for the technical difficulties. They should be resolved after the next episode.

In this episode, Kira is joined by Chloe Margherita to discuss the first decan of Capricorn. They break down this 10° subsection of the zodiac and explore its relationship to positionality, place, and the land. Kira and Chloe reflect on the ebb and flow nature that is inherent to this decan as a result of Jupiter and Saturn co-ruling it, along with its connection to the 2 of Pentacles in tarot. Kira and Chloe present a variety of examples (some savory and some less so!) to see how this decan expresses in real life scenarios.

In this episode, Kira is joined by the astrologer Elly Higgins to talk about the 6th house. They discuss why they've deemed it the "least sexy" of all the houses and the kind of hardships they live here. Elly shines a light on the connections the 6th house has to labor movements and organizing work while Kira illuminates the connections between carework and unpaid labor. The 6th house is called "Bad Fortune" in Hellenistic astrology and this episode explores why that is and how we can find meaning in challenging places.

They explore how this decan defies Sagittarius stereotypes, how it mirrors the final decan of Gemini, and how it brings us into a story of resilience, burdens, and effortful success. Kira and Chloe look at the co-rulers of this decan, the Sun and Saturn, to illuminate the story of this face, alongside the 10 of Wands tarot card that is associated with it. If you have placements from 20-29° of Sagittarius, this episode is for you.
