Let’s be honest. No one likes to be pruned. Because - it hurts! BUT - we will learn in today’s episode that pruning is not optional. It is essential if you want to bear much fruit for Kingdom impact and God’s glory. 

Welcome to the final installment of “The SO THAT” series! Together we are studying the connector phrase “so that” as it relates to Scripture. This tiny little phrase will lead you deeper into the heart of God SO THAT Christ may be glorified in your life and on this earth.

In short, this series explores the REASON for the ACTION and BELIEF of the Christian faith. Why does any of this matter?

Things we will explore in this episode: 

• The SO THAT connection in John 15.

• What happens to the branches that don’t bear fruit.

• The science behind pruning for plants. 

• Three important things that happen because of pruning!

• How we make ourselves susceptible to disease (both literal and spiritual).

• What you have control over that has a direct impact on the fruit you bear.

• How/why you withhold growth in others when you resist being pruned by the Spirit. 

• You have a choice as to whether or not you will submit to the pruning.

Reflection questions you’ll ask yourself in this episode:

• Is there any area of your life that may not be yielding nourishing fruit?

• Where are you feeling pruned in your life right now?

• How might you be resistant to the ‘pruning’ God wants to bring into your life? 

• In what way could you prune or scale back your commitments so that you can bare better fruit?

• What is one specific way you could adjust the way you spend your time to yield better fruit?
