TikTok could disappear over the weekend from the App stores in the USA. And other countries have already followed suit. BUT, with thousands flocking to Rednote does it even matter? And why are we so afraid of Chinese surveillance on TikTok but not on the millions of other devices with microphones and cameras actually produced in China? Is this all a red herring?

Plus, yesterday I said I no longer care. But we all know that’s not true, the real problem is I care too much about you, the country and the planet and it is literally killing me.

It’s award season as the BAFTA nominations are announced and Oscar next week. But given Trump’s rising to power, LA under siege by fire and all the other events, is it tone deaf to carry on, or is it just what we need, a distraction?
