Luke 12:13-20, 23, 26; Acts 20:35
In these scriptures, Jesus discusses covetousness in a way that instructs us on how to live the life God has called us to and avoid being covetous.
To inherit the kingdom, we don't need to have an abundance of money, for money can't buy heaven. However, if we indeed have a lot of money, it is prudent, necessary, and wise as stewards of God's properties to give to our fellow brothers. Wealth can sometimes divide families, and God doesn't want that. He wants us to trust Him in our giving, for it is better to enter heaven's door lacking an arm than not entering at all.
Today, I encourage you to give. Organize yourself to give to a non-profit, a struggling family at church, a beggar or homeless person, or your employee. All in all, just give, for we don't know when our time will come to depart from this earth. Your generosity can inspire others and make a significant difference in someone's life.
