My name is Austin Gleason, but most people know me as AG (that’s a story for another time). I’m the owner and designer of Tipsy Threads, a brand born from creativity, change, and a leap of faith.
I graduated from The University of Alabama in 2020, and like many graduates at the time, my path was anything but traditional. I went from waiting tables in Tuscaloosa to selling clothing in Athens, Georgia from August 2020 to May 2022. Eventually, I moved to Fairhope, Alabama to help open that company’s fourth store—where I unexpectedly fell in love with fashion and the creative process behind it.
While I loved the industry, I reached a point where I wasn’t happy with my life or where I was headed. Everything changed after buying a hat in Turks & Caicos and realizing I could make something better—something more me. That spark turned into Tipsy Threads.
I moved back home to my parents’ second house on Lake Martin, sewing hats on the couch and selling just a few at a time. What started as a creative outlet quickly turned into a brand, and that passion project has grown into what Tipsy Threads is today.
I’m excited to keep sharing this journey and creating pieces that are fun, thoughtful, and made with intention.
