Today we discuss why it's important to go through difficult things in life, whether its brought upon you or you decide to create them for yourself. Be the person who molds themselves into an adaptable, prepared human being who is ready for shit to hit the fan, and welcomes it.
Today, I bring you our shortest episode yet, but hopefully one that still delivers something of value. Planning out your work day, or other areas of your life, is something that you can greatly maximize the efficiency of if done correctly. I share how I attack lists of things to do in the most efficient way possible, AND I dive into backwards planning which is my own strategy of setting hard stop times that I have to get things done before moving on to subsequent goals or tasks.
Today we talk about maintaining ability, skill, health, etc and fighting against the decline that comes with non use. Use it or lose it is a real concept that affects not only athletic ability but even more importantly general health as we age in the form of preventing cancers, diseases, and cognitive decline.
Today we briefly touch on 'whats the least I can do to get by with the most benefit'. Its true that in every persons life, at some point, all they need or want is the MED. What does that look like on a basic level? time frame, sessions per week, equipment, where do you start?
Today we discuss in more detail what the next few months will look like for me. We break down exactly what the Crossfit Games competitive year looks like and where I think I can match up in the next year.
I talk about my injury and how its going to affect my training and plans moving forward.
Today we discuss hurt vs injured, when to push through pain, how to tell if you should take a break, and the potential ramifications of each of those choices.
Today we discuss stretching. Why the body needs stretched and why as we age it becomes even more important. We dive into a story of how stretching saved David Goggins life after he took it to the extreme and ended up becoming healthier and better because of it. And we discuss practical application of how long you should stretch, how to think about fitting it in your daily schedule, and what stretches you can do to get the most bang for your buck!
Today we discuss the importance of doing a bare minimum amount of work as opposed to just not doing anything. The incredible affect of simple physical activity, and the impact it has on mood, energy, short and long term health, and building a stronger mindset. We also address "I dont feel like it"
Today we discuss why the 30 day fast fit gets such great results. The idea behind it, why it works, why its actually making your life easier and not harder, and why you should jump in if you havent already. I try to talk you down from excuse mountain and provide some perspective on why health and fitness is an INVESTMENT and not a SACRIFICE.
