On todays episode I reflect over my past 3 years of personal/work life, and how I have adapted throughout. Breaking down my mindset, How I approach setback, obstacles, getting better, growing, and where I see my life going. And a simple thank you to those who have played a small part in making what I do possible.
today we discuss how the body deals with putting on or taking off weight, why we biologically have a disposition towards gaining, and why the body doesn't lose weight in a perfect linear pattern. The reason you shouldn't worry about daily weight fluctuation, what time frame is better for taking weight progress data points, and other ways to measure progress that isn't the number on the scale!
Today we discuss calorie balance in detail. I try to provide an in depth description of how your body gains or loses weight, how difficult that actually may be, what kind of time frames and calorie amounts you should be looking at, and more. We also discuss why what food you eat does still matter.
Today we discuss sleep, which in my opinion is the most overlooked and underrated part of being healthy. I give my personal story and sleep history and what finally clicked in my head to start attacking sleep head on. We talk about the benefits, what is holding you back, tips and tricks, and more!
Today we break down the real science of "metabolism", what it is, how it works, and how much it actually decreases as we get older.
Today we discuss the importance of hydration, how it has helped my clients, the facts, the benefits of hydration on the body, how much you should be drinking, and how to make the habit practical.
Its a new year and everyone has their goals or resolutions set to be healthier, happier, better people. However, more often than not people don't get achieve those goals and sometimes drop their resolutions completely. Its my opinion that the issue is todays topic, Intention. I discuss my approach on how to follow through on something you set out to accomplish!
I talk about a few examples in my life where less is more, and how I think sometimes people don't realize they need to slow down to move forward more efficiently.
I ran a marathon. It hurt a lot. I learned a lot. I walk you through what my training, nutrition, prep, etc all looked like leading up to the race, what race day was like, and try to paint a mental picture mile by mile of how it was for me. Listen to it sped up is my advice.
After a 5 mile run, I was motivated to share some information about how I look at mental toughness. My hope is that something I say here hits home and allows people to practically apply some of these thoughts to their life.
