I sift back through some thoughts from a 4 day competition based training camp that I put myself through. What I learned, what I need to focus on, and how it will impact my training moving forward.
Today I update the pod on my half marathon preparation and some of the differences between this year and last year. Then I talk about the upcoming weekend I am facing, what will be the hardest 4 days of training I have ever done.
How are the calories you burn each day actually broken down?
Today we talk intensity, how much, how often, how to quantify intensity, and everything in between.
Today we discuss a concept that I heard about over a year ago from Dr. Peter Attia as he guest starred on one of the podcasts I frequent. He mentioned this system that oversimplified nutritional approach in a way that I found really fantastic. He talks about the 3 levers of What, When, and How Much, and how often you should be toying with the variables.
Today we talk about making enthusiastic decisive action. Why making a decision NOW, and not pushing it off, is what you need to do. We talk about why we are hesitant sometimes, but how the actual outcomes of most of our decisions turn out positive.
Today we discuss Murph! The classic Memorial Day workout that has taken the fitness community over on said weekend. We talk about what the workout means, different iterations, how I approached the workout, and how I am feeling now. We also discuss the start of the June 30 Day Challenge and what my fitness challenges will look like moving forward!
This week marked week 1 of my 14 week half marathon prep. The first run was a mile time trial in which I learned a lot about myself, and most of that growth came from having to quit my first attempt. Why does failure help us learn and why should we use it as a tool?
Today I update you guys on my training and how far out we are from this years half marathon. What training plan I am following and what that looks like up through the race. We also talk about giving a true 100% effort and how often that should be done, who does it benefit, and why is it good for you?
Today we discuss why the taking action sets things in motion and eventually creates momentum. Push out of your comfort zone and do something you have been putting off. Your dreams and goals dont happen on their own, YOU must do the work.
