Today's Episode explores the development of CW's latest show (Kung Fu), as well as the original series it succeeds. As we poke through history, expect to hear a mix of silly (but interesting) facts about 1970s martial arts movies/television, as well as looking at the reviews and giving our opinion on the 2021 adaptation. 

With a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 2.5 on IMDB, it is fair to say this show has polarized its viewers. Though you might not agree with our take, we spend Today's Episode evaluating Nasim Pedrad's TBS pilot and learning about how it came to be. This is not a normal sitcom. 

Before catastrophic events like 9/11 and COVID led to travel restrictions and beefed up security, the most noted dangers to globetrotting came from individuals  like Charles Sobhraj, portrayed by Tahar Rahim in The Serpent. A psychopath with complete disregard for human life and no fear of killing, Sobhraj is one of the most infamous international serial killers of the 1970s. This series does its best not to glorify this heinous individual, by highlighting the courageous investigation Herman Knippenberg and his wife Angela put together to stop Sobhraj, however true crime junkies are sure to get their moneys worth. 

After 7 years, Wipeout is back on a new network with new hosts and new obstacles. The show is as corny as ever, with tiktok jokes and other meme culture cringe humor. We discuss some of the events, the competitors,  and background history to episode 1. COVID definitely played a factor in production. If you're looking for something to watch that requires little to no brainpower, we've found your series. 

Brace yourselves for a new genre-mixing,  Netflix original series that follows a group of ragtag teens in Victorian England as they  solve crimes, fight ghosts, and try to scrounge up enough money to just survive. 
The kicker? They work indirectly for the most infamous detective in literary history, Sherlock Holmes. Also, ones an angel. 
Take a listen, as we assess the full extent of "Chapter One: An Unkindness In London." It's got a wild plot and plenty of questions worth exploring.

From London to RoboCop, the Solar Opposites Shlorpians are back to kickstart their new season with more silly adventures and Justin Roiland riffs. Though Korvo, Terry, Yumyulak, and Jesse seem destined to repeat the same character arcs each episode, the unexpected humor, satire, and THE WALL, make the show a better watch than some of the competition. 
Just like always, we try to intersplice some background info as we discuss the plot so you can technically say you learned something.

Emilio Estevez returns to acting as Gordon Bombay, a now middle-age ice rink owner with a chip on his shoulder for everything hockey. The spirit of the game can only be held back for so long however, as Gordon finds himself driven to coach a young team of underdogs against the powerhouse Mighty Ducks organization that he infamously won titles with. You know what you're getting when you tune in. We discuss the audience response, the development, and try to guess how many duck themed shows Disney is planning on making. 

From the creator behind Bodyguard and Bloodlands, it comes as no surprise that this acclaimed police drama treats its audience to plenty of twists and turns. You will leave the show angry at some characters, but also intrigued at the premise. As detective inspector Jo runs an operation to catch the alleged killer of Gail Vella, she is unknowingly reported to AC-12, an anti corruption firm that will stop at nothing to take down a bad cop. 
We talk about the start of this season, what we think will happen, and what the show has done in the past. 

Gary and Mooncake's adventure precedes TBS's 2018 "Final Space" premiere. While also discussing the first installment of the third season, we spend a good portion of the episode going through the story of how Olan Rogers, the shows creator, ended up pitching his idea and getting it produced.
