Plot + Stuff you'll never believe!!!! Check it out!

This series runs at a deliberate pace. The acting is good, the scenery suitable for the 1980s, but you'll need to be patient in order to enjoy this episode. We delve into the plot, however the storyline seems to be of secondary focus to each characters growth. Despite its simplicity, it's hard to know what endgame Michael Lucas is setting up for the audience. Our review also focusses on the production and background to the show. Hope you enjoy!

Ultra City Smiths is Steven Conrad’s creation in the same way Primal was a composite of Genndy Tartakovsky’s ideas.

Like Tartakovsky, Conrad has had a prominent career. He wrote the screenplays to Nicholas Cage’s Weather Man, Will Smith’s Pursuit of Happiness, and Ben Stiller’s The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

And This isn’t his first television show.

Most recently, EPIX aired the neo-noir thriller Perpetual Grace, LTD.  And more notably, he completed two seasons of Patriot for Amazon.

Why am I broadcasting Steven Conrad’s biggest hits?   Well Ultra City Smiths is different than anything you’ve seen before.

So on Today’s Episode, we recap the sixth episode finale (titled Family of Orphans) to Ultra City Smiths; the stop-motion crime drama featuring an ensemble of talking baby dolls living in a musical thriller noir.

The first couple episodes of season two are out and streaming on Comedy Central and Hulu. The show is rated MA, but having watched both episodes, there’s nothing that should hold you back from tuning in (some language, that’s it). The humor is nerdy, quirky, awkward, and goofy. Nora has an edge to her, a purposefully flawed lead. Episode one, reintroduces the audiences to her character. Episode two, "Stop! Nora Time." is a wild adventure. Hear our thoughts and listen in!

Starz 62-minute pilot pleasantly surprised viewers and critics alike when it premiered Sunday.  Penned by Loki  (2021) creator, Michael Waldron, Heels is an ode to the art of professional wrestling. You don't have to be a fan of Hulk Hogan or Vince McMahon to become immersed in the drama. As we discuss the events of this episode, "Kayfabe," we compare the series to other shows and movies, talk about the cast, and discuss some of the background that helped shape the show into what it is. Enjoy!

Minnie Driver kicks off this season of John Carney's New York Times inspired series, Modern Love, by playing a doctor with reservations about selling her late husbands Triumph Stag.

It's definitely one of the tamer shows we've reviewed lately, but don't let that scare you away. The emotional gut punch and straight forward storytelling is more refreshing than boring, and given it's only a half hour, there are much worse ways to spend your time. Hope you enjoy our review!

A down on his luck, 5th grade teacher living in pre-COVID LA and experiencing some crazy anxiety, while second guessing his life choices and wondering what is in store for his future... That is Mr. Corman (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) in a nutshell. On Today's Episode, we review the first two episodes of the Apple series that was released earlier this week. If you're familiar with Gordon-Levitt's HitRecord platform then you won't be too surprised when some scenes take an artsy turn. Happy Tuesday!

Paramount+ just wrapped up the second season to its critically acclaimed anthology series, Why Women Kill. The last episode was called “The Lady Confesses.” Season one centered around 3 timelines, one mansion, and a handful of murders. Season two is completely different, with a story set in the late 1940s about the lengths a woman will go to to get into the prestigious Garden Club. We discuss the plot at length while giving our thoughts on the show in general. Tune in and enjoy!
