With a 56% critical score, but 86% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, we spend Today's Episode reviewing the first couple episodes of Apple TV's newest drama adventure. There are a lot of questions surrounding this show. How does a book in the 1980s, that was converted into a box office failure by Harrison Ford five years after its release, that has been retooled for the modern era, and stars the nephew of the original story, pass muster? Beware of spoilers for the first season of Robert Kirkman's Amazon Prime series, Invincible. You'd think that with years to prepare, Omni-Man would have delivered the bad news to his son with a little more finesse. "Your mother is like a pet," and "My people shall enslave the petty earthlings," obviously lacks the persuasive punch necessary to sway Mark. With an action packed finale that sets up further adventures to come, it's pretty clear why the reviews have all been so positive. That said, I hope you join us as we discuss our thoughts on the series as a whole, and whether it deserves the hype. 

New CEO of Sebben & Sebben, Judy Ken Sebben (a.k.a Birdgirl) spends episode 4 "We Have The Internet," dealing with the wrath of a sentient building. The new series is a spin-off of Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law, which is itself one of many spin offs to Space Ghost Coast to Coast. We spend a little time looking at the history of the Adult Swim universe, but mainly discuss the events of Birdgirl and what our opinions are on the show. 

Join us as we follow Alina, Mal, and Kaz through the first episode of Shadow and Bone, the Netflix series based on the Grisha book trilogy. Michael Schur knows sitcoms, but his pilots are hit and miss. Focussing just on this first episode, we talk initial impressions, compare it with other sitcom pilots, and try to measure its potential. There isn't just one murder mystery here... I count at least three by the end of this first episode. When judging on a curve, this new sitcom stands out with much more potential than the usual fare. Even though the second episode isn't as good as the pilot, Topher Grace and Jimmy Tatro lean into their comedy roots and produce an entertaining, Matt Damon lambasting, post-COVID show. Though the remaining cast hasn't received the writing they've needed to separate themselves from their characters cliches, there is promising potential. Tune in to hear our full review!
