On July 15, 2014, the Chrisley family was in Los Angeles to promote their reality TV show “Chrisley Knows Best.” Though it had only been on air a few months, the show had blown up and made the Chrisleys a household name. What viewers didn’t know was at that very moment, as the Chrisleys walked the red carpet, Todd and Julie were knee-deep in bankruptcy litigation. “Chrisley Knows Best” viewers didn’t seem to be bothered by Todd and Julie’s lies once their multi-million dollar bankruptcies were made public. But, would it matter to viewers if they knew the Chrisleys were actively hiding their TV show earnings from the IRS and failing to pay state taxes in order to live lavishly at the expense of Georgia taxpayers? Or would it all be seen as just another controversy to add to the shit show that made the Chrisleys so popular?
