Assassin's Creed: The Secret Crusade is the thrilling novelisation by Oliver Bowden based on the game series. Niccolo; Polo, father of Marco, will finally reveal the story he has kept secret all his life - the story of Altair, one of the brotherhood's most extraordinary Assassins. To demonstrate his commitment, Altair must defeat nine deadly enemies, including Templar leader, Robert de Sable. Altair's life story is told here for the first time: a journey that will change the course of history; his ongoing battle with the Templar conspiracy; a family life that is as tragic as it is shocking; and the ultimate betrayal of an old friend.

    Go beyond the game
Adds so much more to the story of the original game. Unexpectedly, the events of the game only make up the first half of the game.
    The original Assassin's story
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This is the best AC book by far, it has more engaging characters and a fairly deep plot compared to the others and it's middle eastern setting and cultural references peek the interest.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Assassin's Creed: The Secret Crusade?
Altair is a character that is both tragic and heroic and you feel for a lot of his situations even if some of them are brought on by himself.
Which character as performed by Gunnar Cauthery was your favourite?
No particular character stands out, but they are all voiced very well and distinctly.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
    Yes
    Any additional comments?
    No
    Well worth the money
This book was a lot more than I bargained for, it took the story of the game that I enjoyed so much and made it so much more, I cannot wait to listen to the rest of the series!
    Brilliantly Written
I have listened to it twice from start to finish. Gunnar Cauthery is brilliant as narrator. Story covers all aspects well and keeps you gripped till the end. Highly Recommended

    Frustrating
Don't buy this until part two comes out Soooooooooooo Frustrating. Great story but doesn't have an ending.
Do not buy this book until part 2 is published
What disappointed you about Cross My Heart?
I love James Patterson books, but at no point does Audible, the publisher or Patterson warn you that this is only the first part of the story. Unless you want to spend 10 hours of your life, as I did, listening to a story that doesn't finish, do not buy this book at least until its sequel is published.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
It's a good story, with good characterisation (the criminal is particularly intriguing), written in the rather banal Patterson style, but for the beach or a long journey it's good company. I just wish it had finished!
Which character as performed by Michael Boatman and Tom Wopat was your favourite?
    The multi-named criminal...
    good book
another griping book one in long line of books intresting one for a cosy evening by a fire
Die hard Airport Fiction fans only
What disappointed you about Cross My Heart?
Absurd plot contrivances, unbelievable characters, clumsy spoon-feeding of references and lack of literary technique like metaphor and simile.
Would you ever listen to anything by James Patterson again?
Only as part some kind of academic study.
What didnt you like about Michael Boatman and Tom Wopat s performance?
    Maudlin, indulgent and melodramatic.
Also the mis-pronunciation of espresso (eXpresso) unforgivable.
What character would you cut from Cross My Heart?
The 'nemesis' Thierry Mulch. The least believable character I've ever come across, Mulch is supposed to be the disguise of the criminal mastermind Marcus Sunday. This criminal mastermind sends notes to Alex Cross for no apparent reason other than to give him a gigantic clue and help James Patterson move the story forward. He then comes to give a talk at Cross' sons' school, again for no plausible reason at all. On top of this he appears to dress as some kind of Colonel Sanders-esque clown, again for no reason whatsoever.
    Any additional comments?
Random inconsistent sound effects and 'dramatic' music have been added to the audiobook, like a radio play for children.
alex cross hits the mark once again !!!
absolutely loved it listened to them all will never stop til james p does amazing

    Used Book
Seller is great to do business with. Book was just as described.
    NOT WHAT I ORDERED
I ordered this book in LARGE PRINT , but the one I received was small print. I would have returned it, but it was a gift for my mother and she didn't tell me right away.
    Four Stars
Too much descriptions of areas in England and a lot of repetition.
    Excellent Read
This was an indulging read. . . I recommend it highly.
I have read books by Barbara Taylor Bradford in the past, but it has been two or three years.
    Classic Barbara Taylor Bradford.

    Gripping
Didn't get a lot of sleep once I'd started to listen. A gripping, pacy novel that had me holding my breath on many occassions. I wasn't too sure about the narration in the beginning but soon got used to it as he suited the 'tough' characters. Not my usual genre but I will now listen to more thrillers.
    Tedious and disappointing
A far fetched tale, overly long and tedious. I couldn't like any of the characters as they had no depth and had nothing of any interest about them.
The story was confused and didn't flow well at all. The only reason I gave a second star was that I did manage to finish it was, albeit with a sigh of relief.
    Can't finish this one
Sorry, the reader is so bad, I can't get into the story at all. Perhaps I will try again another day.
    Dreary
I found the narration so dull I could not follow the story, I think the story line might be good but I just couldn't follow it I gave up about a third of the way through I just couldn't stand it any longer.
    Never Coming Back
This was a great thriller type story a family just vanished in to thin air where did they go? its a journey of twists and turns and you find yourself being the detective its a little disturbing in places but all in all a great story.

    Members Reviews:
    Brilliant series, by brilliant author.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
It's not very often that an author this good comes along. Michael Robotham is an excellent writer, crafting his writing elegantly and without unnecessary flourish. He dialogue is clever and shines when a good narrator such as Sean Barrett performs it. The only other narrator to better Barrett performing Robotham was Crispin Redman performing The Suspect. His voices were just wonderful - especially for the policeman Ruiz. Books of this quality are hard to put down; you want them to go on forever. The plot was intelligent and original, and the ending extremely satisfying and it left me with a smile. If you're reading this, you must love a good mystery/thriller but don't like wasting your time or a credit on a mediocre book.
I can assure you this book is definitely not mediocre. It will tick all your boxes and more. Please buy it and enjoy!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Watching You?
For me, the entire book shines, without any particular moment being the most memorable. Having said that, the appearance of Malcolm was very memorable, as was each appearance in the book of Owen. I won't say why, as the reader will discover for themselves, on listening to this wonderful book.
What about Sean Barretts performance did you like?
I like the way Sean Barrett, for me, speaks with virtually no accent. OK, it's mildly British, but understated. He performs the book well changing from narrative stretches into the various dialogues in a masterful way and always engaging the listener by injecting interest, activity and mood into his performance.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes, I felt like laughing and crying but most of all I felt that tingle of expectation and suspense that prevented me from turning the book off to go to sleep. There were many occasions where I empathised with the various characters and they all played believable parts in the story. Finally, the book made me sorry, sorry that it was over......
    Any additional comments?
Please Michael Robotham, write another excellent novel in this series soon, and meanwhile keep safe and well.
    ## Fabulous! Couldn't stop listening. ##
The best of the five by this author I've listened to so far. The story doesn't veer off track to fill in the chapters. It's all story. Dependable Sean Barrett narrates the story to perfection.
    Can't stop listening
Where does Watching You rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
In a league of its own. Maybe as good as 'Watching you' also by Michael Robotham
Who was your favorite character and why?
    Piper Hadley.

Chattworth, the assistant commissioner at Scotland Yard, was pensive. "We aren't doing very well, West, are we?" Andrew Kelham interested a lot of people, not least the Home Office. Three days before, his son had been murdered, his cleaner throttled.
Since then, life had been anything but easy for Inspector Roger 'Handsome' West of the Yard. He'd received a bloody nose, been sandbagged, robbed of important papers, shot at, and accused of gross neglect of duty. A bit of good luck would certainly have not gone amiss. Enter the fantastically lovely Mrs Kelham
Master crime fiction writer John Creasey's near 600 titles have sold more than 80 million copies in over 25 languages across 100 countries under both his own name and more than 20 other pseudonyms. His style varied with each identity and led to him being regarded as a literary phenomenon. Amongst the many series written were Gideon of Scotland Yard, The Toff, The Baron, Dr. Palfrey and Inspector West, as J. J. Marric, Michael Halliday, Patrick Dawlish and others.
During his lifetime Creasey enjoyed an ever-increasing reputation both in the UK and overseas, especially the USA. This was further enhanced by constant revision of his works in order to assure the best possible be presented to his fans and also by many awards, not least of which was being honoured twice by the Mystery Writer's of America, latterly as Grand Master.
    Editorial Reviews:
A great entry into John Creasy's Scotland Yard crime fiction series, Inspector West Regrets hits all the notes that make a great sleuthing story. In a performance ranging from severe to puckish, Tim Bentinck makes all the characters - especially the titular Rodger West - thrilling to listen to.
Inspector Rodger "Handsome" West of Scotland Yard, is once again called in for a mysterious murder case. The victim: Anthony Kelham, found dead in his infamous financier father's library. And the suspects make up a long list: from enemies, and rivals of the notorious financier to Grisdale Fayne the spurned love and the shadowy figure Mr. Alexander. It is up to chief inspector West to solve this case - and rescue his reputation.
    Members Reviews:
    Not His Best
The enjoyment here is down to Tim Benticks excellent reading and characterisation, for (one of Creasys favourite words) the writing is stilted, the dialogue wooden and the story full of holes. I have enjoyed the previous books in the series but Im not sure Ill listen to another.

    All Ways Delicious
These Moreno brothers are quite a bunch of alpha males. Presented through the easy-going and smooth writing of Reyes, it enhances their appeal. The sense of humor infused in the story and the sweet loving moments, all combined with a sense of family, makes this book one readers will wish they're a part of.
Not Worth the Credit, let alone the effort!
Would you try another book from Elizabeth Reyes and/or Tanya Eby?
No, I'm not interested in anymore flimpsy & transparent plots, unless or unti lthe writing style of the author matures beyond rehashing what she's already stated. I'm just not into stupid plots that go nowhere.
As for the narrator ... well, she isn't on the same level as Joyce Bean, Susan Ericksen or Carrington MacDuffie, she holds her own with this style of book.
What do you think your next listen will be?
    "True Love" by Jude Deveraux
and I plan to relisten to "Betrayed by Trust" by Ana Barrons - a great new addition to my Audible library.
What three words best describe Tanya Ebys voice?
    Engaging, entertaining, humorous
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Always Been Mine?
If I could play editor and had an endless supply of red ink, I'd assume the target readership is more intelligent than a grade schooler processing the ins and outs of hopscotch. Cut out a good four hours of silly, annoying, yada, yada overwriting and the characters will come across with a higher IQ. Then this simplistic plot just might shine as a fun read.
    Beefcake!
What did you like best about this story?
It was interesting to see how it all played out between these two after seeing so much of them in the first book.
    Any additional comments?
I feel a little cheated, We got most of this story line in the first book the only difference was now you are being told how to feel. The writing is okay, its not HOT like some of the reviews lead me to believe, the sex is not explicit like one review said. It was a teen.young adult book. Not much to be expected just a quick read.

A real Kolchak voice but with a far-fetched ending
Would you listen to Kolchak the Nightstalker: A Black and Evil Truth again? Why?
No. It was a great story but a disappointing ending. Too scientifically and government-conspiracy oriented.
Would you recommend Kolchak the Nightstalker: A Black and Evil Truth to your friends? Why or why not?
Yes. Only because the narrator nailed Darren McGavin to the "T".
What does Mark Kalita bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Mr. Kalita obviously saw the entire Night Stalker series and read the early books. His impression and delivery of Darren McGavin's voice, persona and character is spot-on.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me proud to be a Kolchak fan. My favourite television show of all-time and my favourite character.
    Any additional comments?
A great read but a disappointing ending. It went a tad too far. I like it when Kolchak is in his own element and is the lone wolf. I did not particularly enjoy his Casanova diversions either; this takes greatly away from his real character.
    Worthy of the Night Stalker
Very much enjoyed. A very worthy edition to the Kolchak universe. Would love to see another one.
This is Carl Kolchak's ultimate adventure.
If you could sum up Kolchak the Nightstalker: A Black and Evil Truth in three words, what would they be?
    It's ALL TRUE!
Who was your favorite character and why?
we meet a country sherif named Jeeter, who I could only see portrayed by a western-hat-wearing cowboy-dude who looked & sounds exactly like a well-aged Jeff Bridges.
Which character as performed by Mark Kalita was your favorite?
This reader does a great turn as giving all these dimensional characters the life they need as they are put into a story filled with weird-o-gore, spooky-twists, intelligent wit, and a lot of heart.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
    Kolchak's ultimate Night Stalk!
    Any additional comments?
Kolchak the Night Stalker - A Black and Evil Truth.
This is Carl Kolchak's ultimate adventure.
In this tale we know all about Carl's life - his discovery that VAMPIRES are real. UNDYING NIGHT STRANGLERS do exist. We also know about Carl's good and hard stomping by various state government and police agencies, and the hush up afterward that sent him running down the career-path to no-where.
Not, no-where, but more like "Monster-Land". It's just one horrible monster after another as Carl Kolchak becomes a legend on the internet while he finds, and fights, and kills, nearly every known & unknown creature that stalks the night.
In this book, we get a great cast of characters.
