This week we are exploring the North West of Tasmania, the coastal drive between Stanley and Devonport. This week we’re continuing our epic week of travel between Perth, Western Australia and Bordertown, South Australia as we race our way towards Port Melbourne and the Spirit of Tasmania, dodging hotspots and restricted areas as we go. 

We set off from Kalgoorlie, the gold capital of Western Australia, and travel 690km to Cocklebiddy along the Nullarbor Plain. Then a further 680km to Penong, crossing the South Australia border and quarantine checkpoint in Ceduna. 

We stay at the Melrose showgrounds in country South Australia, with the beautiful backdrop of Mount Remarkable, then overnight at Bordertown before transiting through Victoria to board the Spirit of Tasmania for a 430km sail to Devonport.

It’s a huge week of travel through some of the country’s most breathtaking landscapes and we can’t wait to share it with you!

We take you back to Western Australia, as we travel over 800km between Perth and Kalgoorlie. Our first stop is Wave Rock, an incredible natural formation millions of years in the making, and iconic Western Australia landmark. Then we hit the sights in Kalgoorlie for a full day exploring including a fantastic tram tour, a visit to the Kalgoorlie Super Pit gold mine, and some fun at the dinosaur discovery centre. 

Then it’s time to hit the road to commence one of Australia’s most iconic road trips, crossing the Nullarbor and the Great Australian Bight.

This week we take in some impressive natural wonders between Kalbarri and Perth including the brilliant pink landscape of Hutt Lagoon’s epic salt lake, and the fascinating resilience of the regions leaning river gums.

We overnight at Milligan Island, a fantastic beach side off grid campsite before settling in for a 3 night stay at Thomson Brook Estate, a boutique winery just 2 hours south of the city.

We day trip to the coast and ride the iconic Busselton Jetty Express, and explore the quaint country towns of the Ferguson Valley including the world’s largest dam mural.
