On Friday, April 24, 2020 a passerby called 911 to report a dead body laying in a ditch by the side of the road near Noblesville, Indiana. There were no signs of trauma, no identification, no abandoned vehicles, no witnesses, and toxicology reports weren’t much help either...

Until they decided to test the stomach contents of David Fouts, that they had a possible cause of death, apparently he'd last eaten bits of poisonous mushrooms.

The fungus eventually led to the arrest of David Fouts’ wife, Katrina, and his father-in-law’s caretaker, Terry Hopkins.

“The weirdest thing about this case is the mushrooms,” Lockhart said. “The murder was almost perfect. But there’s certain things you can’t get away from. They over thought it. They did stupid stuff in the end.”

Some of you may remember an older episode of ours about Lori Vallow aka Doomsday Mother, well this is a followup about her and her husband Chad Daybell, you know, the ones who killed her kids and his wife, for the greater good of course.

We also talk Rex Heuermann, and the two new cases that he's been tied to!

We also got a fun one at the end. :)

On February 24, 1986, the body of 29 year-old Sherri Rasmussen was found in the apartment she shared with her new husband, John Ruetten, in Van Nuys, California. She had been beaten and shot three times. The (LAPD) initially thought the case was a botched burglary with no suspects.

But Sherri's father believed that Ruetten’s ex (Stephanie Lazarus), was responsible, but was it really that simple? What about the old adage,”The husband did it”?

*Be sure to check out the full interrogation at the end of the episode!

On January 4, 2022, 64-year-old Sheila Fletcher and her husband, Clay Fletcher, found their 36-year-old daughter Lacey dead on their couch. Apparently, for at least 12 years, Lacey Fletcher had been neglected by her parents after becoming basically couch-ridden due to cognitive decline. Lacey had been diagnosed with social anxiety and severe autism. After this, Sheila and Clay abandoned their daughter on the couch to suffer in her own feces even allowing bugs to eat at her body. Lacey’s death gained world wide media coverage for obvious reasons.

He appeared at her church. He was “funny, romantic, the most sensitive man I’ve ever met,” Wainscott said. “The guy that every girl would want.” Soon they were dating and eating dinner at Red Lobster and watching movies. He would bring toys for her kids. “Very engaging. Down to earth. Nice fellow,” their pastor said. But when a police officer approached her with a photograph she said “That’s John" (her presumed perfect man).

Except he wasn’t. He was Jeffrey Manchester, an escaped convict who had been living for the last six months inside a nearby Toys R Us and Circuit City. But now he was on the run, and detectives needed her help!

In the 1970s, Roch Theriault convinced a small group of people to abandon their lives and possessions and go with him to an isolated community in rural Quebec. After attaining absolute control over his followers, Theriault dictated every part of the Ant Hill Kids' existence, including their clothing, diet, thoughts, communication… and probably most disturbingly, their medical treatments... Which were administered by Teareo himself…

The cruelness of Roch’s teachings extended even to the children of the cult. They suffered beatings, starvation, and relentless labor, while adults took the brunt of - but not ALL of - his sexual abuses.

O.J. Simpson was a former NFL football player and convicted armed robber and kidnapper known for being acquitted of the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.

In this second and final part of our Oj Simpson saga, we talk the trial(s), books, talk show appearances, confessions and the strange legacy left behind by OJ Simpson.

Original song lyrics:

Welcome everyone to part two

Here’s my song about the juice

Orenthal James of all names

That’s what it read on his lawsuits

Back in his prime he was pretty fast

Out in buffalo kicking ass

But when his hay day was done

Oj stayed on the run

Chorus:

He rides a bronco

Keeps a steady pace

Out on the highways

The lawmen give chase

He’s desperate now

Gun trembling in his hand

All strung out

Spinnin' every lie he can

If he did it here’s what he’d do

He’d write a book and explain it all to you

How can he make you understand?

He’s not the killing kind of man

But now the juice has run out

What’s TMZ gonna talk about?

Whether he’s down below or up in glory

I can see him and Johnny swapping stories

On April 2, 1990, 23-year-old Mariko Iguchi, a fourth-year college student, decided to take a vacation to Taiwan, where her Taxi driver took more than a liking to her. Her brutal murder has been the subject of many movies and books, and the haunting afterwards...well that's a whole other story.
