GIRD YOUR LOINS FAM, WE'RE DOING A SPORTS! Kind of....

Ugh, Brett Favre. What is there to say? He's great at the football, but he sucks as a person. He won some games, got some rings or whatever, BUT THEN COMPLETELY RUINED THE LIVES OF SOME AMAZING BADASS WOMEN. Jen Steger is here and she's amazing. She was the world's first know female sports influencer and she was JUST. TRYING. TO. DO. HER. DAMN. JOB when she started getting sexual texts, messages, and emails from Brett Favre. She wanted nothing to do with him - and she paid the price. And we spend seventy minutes screaming about it. Join us, won't you?

For today's episode, we're talking about the tragic murder of 23-year-old Sandra Birchmore, who was found dead in her apartment on February 4, 2021. The death was initially ruled a suicide by the town's CORRUPT medical examiner. It took Sandra's badass cousins and the incredible WOMAN chief to dig deeper and expose the years of abuse and exploitation that Sandra had suffered at the hands of a few local cops to get to the truth. And GP came to work today with ALL of the parallels to the Karen Read case that, incredibly, was being prosecuted in the same town at the same time and involving many of the same people. Honestly, can we get all the good people out of this town, fence it off, and start over? Ugh.

The two cases shared a checklist of similarities - a conventionally handsome perpetrator preying on sex workers behind closed hotel doors. But the difference in how the media and investigators handled the two serial killers who took the lives of Robin West, Sarah Butler, Joanne Brown, Mawa Doumbia, and Julissa Brisman could not have been more stark.

When the world's most iconic piece of film memorabilia--Judy Garland's iconic ruby slippers--were stolen from a small museum in Grand Rapids, Minnesota (yes, Minnesota) in 2005, the world went on high alert. The questions swirled like a Kansas tornado: Who took them, how were such an important piece of American culture able to be swiped in the first place, and most importantly WOULD WE EVER GET THEM BACK?  For over a decade, the investigation festered. The police were brainless! The heartless thieves left fans in the lurch, and the only hope was that an unknown hero would have the courage to come forward with information that would solve this case and return the slippers to their rightful place in Judy Garland's home town, because, as everyone knows, there's no place like home.
