Notre-Dame Cathedral has witnessed more than 850 years of history, though the Cathedral of Reims saw more action from French royals.

It was in Reims that most coronations took place though an exception was in 1431 when Henry VI, King of England, was crowned King of France at Notre-Dame.

Mary Queen of Scots married Francis II in the Cathedral in 1558. But mostly it was a church for Parisians.

Notre-Dame de Paris, the grand Gothic cathedral on the Île de la Cité is a symbol to millions.

Not just to Parisians but to many around the world.

When in April 2019, a fire broke out at the Cathedral, the world watched as the tragedy unfolded and an outpouring of love for the building showed just how much it means to so many.

Is the Cathedral haunted?

Could a place so blessed and revered have a darker side?

Tombs were uncovered as part of a cache of statues, sculptures and fragments of the cathedral’s original 13th-century rood screen buried under the floor of the transept crossing at the heart of the cathedral that was ravaged by fire in April 2019.

Maybe this is where some of the apparitions come from?

If you were thinking about creating a movie situated in a remote, dusty, one horse town complete a really freaky story, you couldn’t do better than what led to the creation of the Amaragosa Opera House in Death Valley Junction, situated along the Nevada-California border in the USA.

In 1967, Marta Becket, a former Broadway dancer, headed out West with her husband on a one-woman tour. 

In Death Valley, their aptly-named Covered Wagon travel trailer blew a tire.

The nearest settlement was thirty miles away.

They limped into Death Valley Junction, population 20. It looked like a ghost town.

The square was dominated by an rundown hotel and the abandoned workers’ flats of a defunct borax mining company. 

But it had a gas station, thank goodness.

With a hand crank telephone.

In 1967.

It also had a derelict community theater.

While her husband Tom repaired the tire, Marta wandered over to the theater.

She peered through a tiny hole in the back door.

“As I peered through that tiny hole,” Marta Becket later wrote, “I had the distinct feeling that I was looking at the other half of my life. The building seemed to be saying, ‘Take me. Do something with me. I offer you life.'”

Marta Becket created something so unique that it brings hundreds of tourists from all over the world to this dust out of the way ghost town.

One ghost we know for sure MUST haunt this place is Marta herself.

She poured she soul into this place and we are sure that she still dances on the small stage at the Armagosa Opera House.

Built on a hill with a panoramic view overlooking Baguio City, the Diplomat Hotel is considered one of the most haunted places in the Philippines.

Its history dates back to 1911 when it was constructed as a retreat house by the Dominican Order in a 17-hectare land previously belonging to American locals. 

Many people state that they have seen headless apparitions inside the hotel during the night when they have been inside the abandoned building.

Even when the building was a hotel employees and guests also stated that they often heard weird sounds coming from the building, especially near the fountain.

Apart from that, people living nearby claim that they would hear the banging of doors and windows, clattering of dishes and

voices of screaming people – people in pain.

Torturous screams!

The Philippines is a country of long held superstitious beliefs and curses that can be placed upon them by crossing the dead.

Imagine then, a place filled with murdered souls that sits overlooking a grand city - a place filled with restless spirits.

Would you go there to visit?

Apparently, a lot of tourists do just that, they go specifically looking for an experience at the old Diplomat Hotel. 

Let’s head on into the abandoned building, one last time, before it goes under a huge renovation later this year and the ghosts are forced to look for a new home.

Some people firmly believe that the White House, the primary residence of the president of the United States, is haunted by ghosts.

Among the spooks allegedly spotted wandering the rooms and corridors of the Executive Mansion are past presidents, first ladies, their children, and various other ghosties and ghouls who just seem to be hanging about.

One of its most famous ghosts is Abraham Lincoln who, it seems, was an avid ghost hunter himself.

Stepping foot onto the Charles Bridge, will take you back in the history of Prague to experience the history, culture, splendour of this magnificent structure.

This bridge is in the Capital of the Czech Republic and it is a major tourist attraction.

Behind the religious sculptures and the magnificent photographic opportunities lies the dark history of this bridge’s past.

With death, flood, war, punishment and ego all going into the stones and mortar of the Charles bridge we wounder if it is also haunted by the events of the past that have shaped it.

Indeed, spectres of children inhabit the bridge at night as well as the risen saint who suffered death here. Headless horsemen, demons of all sorts and even the devil himself has made an appearance as well as the ghost of a Native American.

We will soon be taking our own walk across the historic Charles bridge, as we join a tour of Germany and Prague with Dave Schrader later this year.

We cannot wait to explore this site and see what we can find out for ourselves.

In the meantime, there are some really fantastic ghost stories about the hauntings of the bridge so let’s travel to the Czech Republic together and take the walk across the bridge and be thrilled by the visions of the ghosts that guard the path.

Cannock Chase is rumoured to be a portal to another dimension. Supernatural creatures, such as werewolves, Black Dogs, demonic entities, UFO’s, British Big Cats and even Bigfoot have been sighted here.

In the 1940’s, a creepy Pig Man was seen and there are several claims of people also seeing a Black-Eyed Girl.

Cannock Chase, in Staffordshire England, is a former Royal Forest with a long history of paranormal activity. The most famous ghost, known as the Lady of the Chase, has been witnessed by many visitors to the area. She's been described as tall and slim, with large, dark, hypnotic eyes.

The wood is also home to sightings of children heard screaming - some believing them to be the victims of murderer Raymond Leslie Morris.

Gilbert Smith and his family who lived and worked for Bill Hack at Mayanup, had become the talk of Australia after stones and other objects seemingly fell out of the sky.

These mysterious showers of stones materialised out of thin air in front of hundreds of amazed witnesses during the three-year reign of what became known as the Mayanup Poltergeist.

The case attracted worldwide attention and to this day the mystery of the falling stones remains unsolved.

Why were these families targeted and BY WHAT?

The Mayanup Poltergeist is one of Australia’s most intriguing cases of stone throwing activity and has never been solved.
