On this episode of Latinos Out Loud, Rachel and Frank, welcome back filmmaker and host of Pesante’s Picks, Ramon Pesante, and they shoot the shyt about things like husband calling competitions from Ohio to the Latin American version, heard exclusively on LOL ;)
The crew also discusses the current tunnel disconnect where the NYC Department of Transportation paint-rolled over the community by obliterating the highly recognizable artwork that has existed on the walls, and in the foundation of the 191st Street train station in Washington Heights, as seen in the film, “In the Heights”. Her alarming Instagram post splattered all over the media, and Council Woman Carmen de la Rosa made herself available to LOL, as she does to the Dominican community at large. Carmen added color and light at the end of this tunnel and added how local artists can throw their paintbrush in the ring for the next round of artistry on this new blank slate.
