Unapologetic Tawk

In this episode we dive into the recent NYC floods and the mayhem it caused for the city. Eric Adams becomes a 'Master Mason' in secret Freemason ceremony at Gracie Mansion. Cops in separate cities (Philadelphia & NYC) had murder charges dropped against them by judges in the same week. Then, the creator of Black Sky, Rudy Fraser, talks about his relationship with mutual aid and talks in depth about his journey in the tech industry. We start out with a rundown of the news this week including: Eric Adams and the NYPD unveiling a new robot to harass commuters in the subway stations, Caribbean Nations uniting in a ground-breaking call for reparations from their former European colonizers, horrific details of police torture in a warehouse known as "The Brave Cave", and an update on the migrant crisis in NYC.We then transition into a deep conversation about housing justice, and each of the hosts shares vulnerable stories of their own experiences with houselessness and housing insecurity.

Keeping with the housing theme, Relly welcomes Emma Rehac, an organizer for Youth Housing Alliance here in NYC, to the show. She enlightens us on the history of the organization and advocates for a paradigm shift in how we think of housing– especially in an always-gentrifying city like New York.

We sit down with two victims of NYPD brutality, Kedwin (@picturedatfilmed on Instagram) and Daniella (@deeva01 on Instagram), as they recount their experiences being assaulted at a free event with Quavo hosted by Sidetalk NYC last weekend. We put the call out to the community for any information on the officer who punched Daniella: https://www.instagram.com/p/CxKF-MwM232/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

We then introduce the third host of the pod, Dimez Cartier, to the audience. We discuss everything from their start in community organizing, their gender identity journey, to their thoughts on Eric Adams.
