Then Relly and Rudy discuss their experience meeting Bobby Rush, former Black Panther and US Congressman at a screening of a documentary about the assassination of Fred Hampton. We transition to our regularly-scheduled programming of checking in on our goofy mayor and what embarrassment he’s gotten up to this week, including getting neg’d by Joe Biden on a White House meeting about the migrant crisis in NYC. Dimez then catches us up on the latest on the allegations against Diddy, which leads to a greater discussion on the corrupting nature of power, money, and fame. Rudy closes with reaction to the troubling news of Venezuela announcing their intentions to annex a section of Guyana. The crew discusses what familiar factors like oil and foreign intervention means for the possibilities of larger conflict.

TOPICS: Pro-Palestine actions in NYC over the past week, Eric Adams sued for Sexual Assault, NYPD attempting to close public access to radio transmissions, White House working with AT&T to surveil Americans’ phone records, a conversation on Black Creators and their art.

This week’s episode kicks off with discussion of a packed week of Pro-Palestine actions in New York City– including several disruptions during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and on Black Friday. Conversation then transitions to news of Eric Adams being sued for sexual assault under the Adult Survivors Act in New York, another high-profile public figure to be implicated as the law was set to come off the books. Moving on, Rudy talks about the NYPD’s attempt to encrypt its radio communications through a $390 million upgrade, cutting off access to the public– including the press. Then, along a similar theme, he covers another revelation that the White House and AT&T have been cooperating to surveil the phone records of millions of Americans. Dimez wraps up the current events section with an open discussion on what it’s like to be a Black Creator– the struggles along with the fulfillment.

Then the crew discusses the beginning of the trial of Daniel Penny, for second-degree manslaughter, in the killing of Jordan Neely on the subway via deadly chokehold. The crew discusses the importance of staying vigilant with these cases in which coverage is often swept under the rug, and draw parallels to the lack of accountability in the recent mistrial declared in the Breonna Taylor case. Then Rudy brings news to the table of Tech Venture Capital Giant Andreesen Horowitz being exposed for profiting off of noncensensual AI porn.

We then kick it to a spicy, in-depth interview with Edwin Raymond, a retired NYPD officer-turned-activist-and-author. The discussion ranges from recounting prior interactions they had while Raymond was still on the force, Raymond’s whistleblowing on police misconduct, personal run-ins with police while growing up, and differences in opinion on abolition versus reform.

We kick the show off by discussing another big update in the unfolding corruption case surrounding Eric Adam’s mayoral campaign. Then Dimez describes their experience attending the funeral of Kamari Hughes, the 7-year-old boy who was killed by an NYPD tow truck a couple weeks ago, highlighting the other power players who were in attendance, and the calls for justice from the family. Relly then provides an unfortunate update on the aftermath of the Montgomery riverfront brawl, with one of the co-captains famous for “the hat throw heard round the world” being charged with third-degree assault. We wrap up the current events portion with updates on the ongoing genocide in Palestine. Rudy reacts to the United States House of Representatives voting to censure Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, the only Palestinian-American Representative in Congress, for using the emancipatory phrase “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”.

We then throw it to an entertaining, wide ranging interview with multi-talented writer-actor-comedian Niles Abston. Niles has written for Dave on FX, and has appeared in Netflix's I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson. He's also written and starred in his own films and is a touring stand-up comedian. Discussion ranges from his struggles during the WGA and SAG strikes, to nostalgia for 2004, breaking into the entertainment industry as a Black creative, and how comics are able to broach normally taboo topics– including advocating for the people of Gaza.
