Our study in the Gospel of John here on the Unchanging Word continues in chapter 8 beginning at verse 31.
Our Lord in this passage speaks to those Jews who believed in Him.
He offers them deliverance from sin if they would abide in His Word.
If they will continue in His Word they will know the truth and the truth will set them free.
How important is it to you and me that we stay in His Word? This is a mark of a true disciple.
Dr. Mitchell will state that one's fellowship with the Lord
will diminish when we neglect the Word of God
even though we may not stop praying.
It is so important to continue in God's Word day by day
asking the Lord to open one's heart to what He would say
in looking to Jesus the author and perfecter of faith.

October 26, 2022 Gospel of John 8:25-30 - Jesus totally and continually in fellowship with His Father - Prog 38
This is the Unchanging Word Bible study.
We are in the Gospel of John.
Our study will begin in John 8 verse 25. We will be looking at five verses.
In verses 25 - 30 the Apostle John gives us Jesus' words showing His relationship and fellowship with His Father.
Note the number of times our Lord spoke of ‘Him who sent me’
and that Jesus was taught by the Father,
and the things He heard from the Father He spoke to the world.
His is such a close fellowship because the Lord always did the things that were pleasing to His Father.
Dr. Mitchell asks us, "Can we say that?" Do we always do the things that are pleasing to Him?

October 25, 2022 Gospel of John 8:12-24 - Jesus - the Light of the world - Prog 37
The Unchanging Word radio Bible study continues our study in the Gospel of John.
We are in chapter 8 beginning with verse 12.
In this section, Jesus presents Himself as the Light of the World.
This is the second time that Jesus presents Himself as the " I AM ".
The first time is in chapter 6 when He said, "I AM the bread of life".
In our passage here, Jesus says " I AM the Light of the world".
Dr. Mitchell gives us a grand survey of passages dealing with the truth
that God is Light which is who Jesus is.

1 John 1:7 says "If we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light,
we have fellowship one with another
and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son
continually cleanses us from all sin."

October 24, 2022 Gospel of John 8:1-11 - Jesus manifests the Grace of God in forgiveness without condemnation - Prog 36
Welcome to the Unchanging Word Bible study.
We are now in John 8 beginning at verse 1.
Although this passage has been disputed by some
as to whether it is authentically written by the Apostle John,
Dr. Mitchell shares with us why it is accepted as authentic.
The Pharisees were testing Jesus with a situation which could pit Him against the Law of Moses.
But His response to these religious leaders was totally unexpected by them.
So much so, they retreated from His presence, one by one.
Dr. Mitchell shows from this passage the grace of God from the savior
who manifests forgiveness without condemnation.
For whom does Jesus do this?
For you and me and and anyone who comes to Him.
He waits for the sinner to come to Him that He may show mercy.

October 21, 2022 Gospel of John 7:37-53 - Jesus quenches the thirst for reality, Himself - Prog 35
The Unchanging Word is in John 7:37. Welcome!
In this lesson, Dr. Mitchell points out Jesus' words for any and all who will come to Him and drink,
that is for any and all who will take Jesus into themselves and believe in Him.
He asks, "Are you thirsty for reality?"
The promise of reality is fulfilled in the one who believes in Jesus Christ as the Scripture has said.
The Holy Spirit, whom Jesus would send, has now come to dwell in the one who receives Jesus Christ as his own savior.
Dr. Mitchell finishes out this chapter by noting that the Jewish rulers could not arrest Jesus.
When, Nicodemus speaks out to the Pharisees about their own law, he is ridiculed as one who did not know the Scripture.
It turns they were the ones who did not know the truth of the Word of God.

October 20, 2022 Gospel of John 7:25-39 - Jesus calls thirsty people to drink of Him by the Holy Spirit - Prog 34

Our study in the Gospel of John chapter 7 continues in verse 25. This is the Unchanging Word Bible study.
The Apostle John continues to write about Jesus, here in the midst of the temple in Jerusalem.
The result is opposition and division as He continues to teach about His relationship to God His Father
and how He is going to the Father where none who do not believe in Christ would be able to come.
So, Dr. Mitchell then draws our attention to Jesus' teaching on the last day of the feast
concerning their coming to Jesus to drink of Him.
Jesus was speaking of the Holy Spirit.
At that time, the Holy Spirit had not yet been given by Jesus,
because Jesus had not yet died and been raised and ascended back to heaven
in order that He might send the Holy Spirit.
That is, Jesus had not yet, at that time, been glorified.
But He would be.

October 19, 2022 Gospel of John 7:14-24 - Jesus' teaching is from God and He is does the will of God - Prog 33
The Unchanging Word is in John 7:14 for our study and we welcome you.
As John writes in this passage, Jesus had now left Galilee, in the north
and had come back to Jerusalem, in the south, privately.
But now here it is, the middle of the feast of tabernacles,
and Jesus goes up into the temple and begins teaching.
Dr. Mitchell shows us how Jesus was thought of by the people as just a common, ordinary man.
They wondered how He had been educated in the things of God having never been trained in the rabbinical school's teaching.
Jesus' teaching came from God Himself, vs.16
Dr. Mitchell points out that the whole mind, will and emotions are involved in knowing God's will and doing it.
God's will for you and me is to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ
with our whole heart, soul and spirit and we shall know God and His teaching.
So, let's turn to God's Word: John 7:14 with Dr. Mitchell.

October 18, 2022 Gospel of John 7:1-13 - Jesus, not religion, is the issue - Prog 32
The Unchanging Word Bible study welcomes you to our study through the Gospel of John. We now turn to chapter 7.
As John writes verse 1 of Chapter 7, Jesus had been to Jerusalem in the south
but now had returned to Galilee in the north because the Jews in Jerusalem had sought to kill Him.
Now back in Galilee here in Chapter 7, Jesus is spending time with His brothers, the other sons of Joseph and Mary.
Dr. Mitchell talks of Jesus' response to His unbelieving brothers who had lived with Jesus for a good many years
and still yet did not believe that Jesus was in fact the Messiah of God.
Dr. Mitchell then goes on to point out that the meaning of the word 'world' in this passage
speaks of the religious world.

Not worldly religion, but Jesus, is the issue. Jesus will always be the issue.

October 17, 2022 Gospel of John 6:63-71 - Jesus, the Holy One of God - Prog 31
The Unchanging Word bible study continues in the Gospel of John 6 beginning at verse 63.
The Apostle John records in this passage the response of some of the other disciples of Jesus
who found it hard to believe what Jesus had just told them and they stopped following Jesus.
But John, who was one of the twelve disciples, records the words Peter spoke by Divine revelation when he said,
" Also, we have believed and know that You are the Holy One of God." verse 69.
Now, Dr. Mitchell shares with us a brief overview of this chapter and speaks to us of the fact
that it is the words of Jesus that are Spirit and are life.
This speaks of the power of the Word of God.

So, it is well that we take heed to what we hear.

October 14, 2022 Gospel of John 6:44-63 - Learning from the Father leads one to the Son - Prog 30

The Unchanging Word welcomes you to this lesson in John 6. We are beginning at verse 44.
Jesus says that the Father draws, the Father teaches and everyone having heard and learned from the Father comes to Jesus Christ, the Son.
The Father reveals the Son that whosoever believes may come to Him.
The union of the Living Father, the living Son and the living believer is shown by the statements Jesus spoke concerning eating His flesh and drinking His blood.
Dr. Mitchell shows us that many of Jesus outer circle of disciples were offended and no longer walked with the savior when they heard these words.
But the twelve disciples did not. His disciples know Jesus' Words, that they are spirit and they are life.
So let's ask ourselves: To whom shall we go?
Jesus is the one who has the Words of eternal life.
