Our study in the evidences of a Spirit filled life resumes

form where we previously learned about praying in the Holy

Spirit.

This part of the armor of God is used to stand firm

in the faith.

Dr. Mitchell then goes on to share with us the fact of Jesus

praying all night to His Father. The sinless Son of God

prayed how much more you and me. We value your prayer on

behalf of this ministry that the Word of the Living God will

be made known to this present generation. If you have prayer

Jesus asked us to pray the Lord of the harvest to send out

laborers into His harvest.

Let’s open our Bible to Ephesians 6:18 with Dr. Mitchell

In this study Dr. Mitchell shares Scriptures which

speak of praying in the Holy Spirit. These are Jude 20 and

Ephesians 6:18.

Dr. Mitchell calls our attention to the fact that walking

with Christ in fellowship with Him is a spirit filled life.

As we walk in fellowship with the Lord, we pray in the

Spirit.

He shares with us that prayer links the believer to

omnipotence, the very power of God.

One’s ministry should be the fruitage of a walk and

fellowship with an omnipotent God. Praying in the Spirit of

God brings one to the power of God to do His will.

God is able to do exceedingly abundantly, above all we can ask.

With the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast, let’s open our

Bible to Jude 20 with Dr. Mitchell as we learn about praying

in the Holy Spirit of God.

In our previous study we have been looking at the fruit of

the Spirit as evidence of the filling of the Holy Spirit.

This is to be the normal experience of the Christian day by

day. Our last study covered the fruit of Love, joy and

peace.

In this lesson Dr. Mitchell continues with the other fruit

of the Spirit such as patience, gentleness, goodness, faith

or faithfulness which is based on faith, then meekness and

self-control.

All these fruit of the Spirit were pre-eminent in our Lord’s

life as Dr. Mitchell point out. He will also draw from the

lives of various Biblical characters that exemplifies some

of these fruit in their own lives.

Fellowship with the Lord, evidences these fruit.

Dr. Mitchell continues with the fruit of the Spirit here on

the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast, Galatians 5:22-23.

Our study on the Spiritual life of the Christian who has a

personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ continues.

We have seen that Love, as found in Galatians 5:22 as the

fruit of the Spirit, is one of the first signs or evidences

of the Spirit filled life. Love is the badge of a disciple

of Christ, as Dr. Mitchell points out. He will takes us to

1Cor.13 to speak of the love which never fails. Our Lord

exemplified the very essence of Love in His person, his

life, his death and resurrection and exaltation to the

right hand of God where He still loves each on of us who

trusts in Him. There are more fruit of the Spirit.

The Biblical topic of the Spiritual life of the Christian

is the subject of our study in this lesson.

Dr. Mitchell brings out the first evidence of the

filling of the Holy Spirit, of a Spiritual life.

He makes the point that Spiritual gifts are

not the evidence of a Christian’s spiritual life. Even the

carnal Christian possesses a spiritual gift.

So what is the evidence of a Spirit filled life?

Dr. Mitchell shows the evidence as the fruit of the Spirit

found in Galatians 5:22-23 which are in contrast to the

works of the flesh. Love is the supreme evidence of the

spiritual life.

The fruit of the Spirit is the person of Jesus Christ living

His life through the Christian.

In Galatians chapter 5 verse 22, Dr. Mitchell speaks of this evidence of the spiritual life, on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast.

Our study on the Spiritual Life of the Christian continues

in this lesson. The Spiritual life is maintained by the

Ministry of the Holy Spirit. His intercession and

the advocacy of the Lord Jesus Christ are both revealed in

the Word of God, the Scriptures, the Bible.

In this lesson, Dr. Mitchell discusses the third enemy of

the Christian, which is the devil. He takes us to several

scriptures where Jesus deals with the truth about the

reality of the devil, his nature and deeds. Even the

Lord Jesus was tempted by the devil in the desert.

So it is no wonder the Christian is accosted by the devil

as well. Our defense is found in the full armor of God,

Eph.6:10-18.

Let’s open our Bible, with Dr. Mitchell and the Word

In this lesson on the Ministry of the Holy Spirit, we will

learn about the oppositions to the Christian walking in

fellowship with God. What are these enemies?

Dr. Mitchell brings to our attention the oppositions to

Christian fellowship. He states the 3 implacable enemies

we face in our fellowship with the Lord.

These are the world, the flesh and the devil.

He shares with us Scriptures dealing with each of the

enemies in order. In this lesson, the first two He speaks about are the world and the flesh. He shares about the

religious world from John 15, the flesh from Galatians 5:17.

It is interesting to note that not every Christian has the

same degree of opposition from all these three enemies.

We are considering the Biblical teaching of the Ministry of

the Spirit with regards to the spiritual life of the

Christian.

God having given us His Word, His Spirit, Christ’s

intercession, and restoration to fellowship with God by

means of confession of sin, we now take a look at

fellowship with God.

Fellowship with God is maintained by speaking with the Lord,

confessing our sin and receiving the full forgiveness that

God assures us of. As it is written, “He is faithful and

just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Fellowship is walking in obedience to His Word, Submission

to His will and loving the brethren. These are the three

evidences of fellowship with the Living God who is Light.
