Dr. Mitchell is speaking on headship in the church in 1Cor.11 in the Unchanging Word today.

He says, Headship is a matter of order and position not of being superior or inferior. 

These verses reveal the relationship of equality in the Godhead between God the Father and Christ Himself .

Dr. Mitchell now continues in 1Cor.11 verse 3.

In 1 Corinthians chapters 8 thru 10 Paul answers now a third question concerning things sacrificed to idols.

He states that knowledge puffs up but love builds up but if anyone loves God, he is known by Him.

So how does love effect the brethren in the church especially when it comes to doubtful activities?

Christ, our mediator, died, and those who now have a relationship to God also have a conscience before God.

But not everyone has the same conscience. There may still be mental baggage leftover from a former lifestyle. So what are we to do?

Well here is Dr. Mitchell to continue our study, 1 Corinthians 8:1.

In our passage today, starting at 1Cor.7:18,the priority for the Christian's heart centers on Christ Himself. In whatever vocation He may find us, we are there to abide with Him and there, to remain. If He has other plans, we can trust Him to direct us.

Next, while serving the LORD Christ, the Apostle Paul answers a second question the Corinthians were concerned about. It has to do with single and unmarried people in the church. Dr. Mitchell will be giving 3 reasons why the Apostle Paul suggested that some Christians might consider staying single. Let continue our study with Dr. Mitchell, 1 Corinthians 7:18.

1Cor. 7, is Paul's first response to several questions the Corinthians had asked in their letter to him.

He responds to the other six questions later on in this book.

But In our passage today, he addresses their misunderstanding about living together in marriage within the church. It is more of a grace relationship than a law relationship.

Dr. Mitchell will examines 1Cor.7:10-16 concerning the bond of marriage.

He brings some sound clarity to believers on the marriage issues that we encounter today in our broken society.

Today's passages, ⁠1 Corinthians 6:12-14 & 19-20, declares that the body is for the Lord and the Lord is for the body. He who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. The body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which Christ bought with a price for Himself which allows us to Glorify God in our bodies.

Dr. Mitchell to explores these verses with us, 1 Corinthians 6:12-14 & 19-20.

In 1Cor.6:9 there is a list of ten sinful life styles. There is also a strong contrast.

Some believers who came out of these former lifestyles. How? By a genuine faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Can't we all say, and such were some of us?

Is this not the Good News? The believer in the Lord Jesus Christ is washed, sanctified and justified and stands before God's throne and in His eyes just as righteous and beloved as Jesus Himself. Now this is good news.

Here is Dr. Mitchell, 1 Corinthians 6:9.

Here in chapter six of 1st Corinthians the Apostle Paul deals with lawsuits between church members. He asks 14 questions in this chapter. Six of those questions begin with 'the words "Know ye not?". In today's lesson, Paul asks this question twice about the believers' future.

So what is it we should know and believe?

Given that each Christian has such a Union with Christ, why spend time and resources on battling each other in a secular court? Is Christ divided within Himself? Does God divide Himself? Does the Holy Spirit of God divide Himself from Himself? Christians shouldn't either.

In our study today, the Apostle Paul needed to correct a misunderstanding concerning relationships inside and outside the church. When it comes to the church, the church needed to deal with the moral problem within, while God deals with those outside the church.

In John 17, Jesus prayed to the Father saying, " I pray not that you should take them out of the world but that you should keep them from the evil. They are not of the world even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth: Thy Word is truth." The Scriptures give the believer a call to separation from evil

Here is Dr. Mitchell to continue our lesson in 1Cor.5:9.

1Cor 5 brings out several serious topics. There is the subject of discipline in the church, the difference between liberty and license, the three reasons for death, and five different leavens, but the Christian is to be characterized by the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth in 1Cor.5:1-8.

Dr. Mitchell reminds us that Christ must be the center of our affections and devotion. And when Jesus is the center of our life, we manifest our testimony both by words and by power. The power of God must characterize the rule of God wherever it exists.

Do you remember your father in the faith? The one who shared the gospel with you? The Apostle Paul reminds the Corinthians that He begot them thru the gospel. This Father wanted his children to imitate him as he did Christ.
