Residents and fellows experience professional burnout just as frequently as practicing physicians, although they face different stressors in their work environment. A graduate medical education program looking to gather data on burnout among residents and fellows can use several useful assessment tools. While that’s a good starting point, it’s also important to follow up with listening sessions or other conversations to understand the specific needs of the program members.
