Unequal Sequel

UNEQUAL SEQUEL - BONUS REVIEW EPISODE- WAKE UP DEAN MAN: A KNIVES OUT MYSTERY~

This week on Unequal Sequel, we’re polishing the silverware and stepping back into the genteel chaos of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery — a sequel that dares to ask the eternal question: how many rich, terrible people can Benoit Blanc politely accuse before someone finally notices the blood on the carpet?

Join us as we investigate Rian Johnson’s darker, moodier return to the whodunit, unpacking whether this third outing sharpens the franchise’s blade or simply rearranges the suspects around a fancier table. Is the mystery genuinely clever, or just very confident in its own misdirection?

Expect wild theories, overconfident accusations, and at least one dramatic monologue about Southern accents.

Does Wake Up Dead Man resurrect the magic, or should this mystery have stayed buried? Let’s find out — one unequal sequel at a time.

On a side note we do dive in spoilers but it’s very clear when that happens because we do give out a big warning. So if you don't want it spoiled then stay clear of this episode.

UNEQUAL SEQUEL - S09 E11 - WILL SEBAG-MONTEFIORE~

This week, Dave and Rich are joined by the endlessly inventive Will Sebag-Montefiore — actor, improviser, comedian, co-host of the excellent Legitimate Likes podcast, and the voice behind the brand-new Privacy Settings show on FUBAR Radio. Will freely admits he doesn’t watch many films, but that doesn’t stop him bringing an entire suitcase of enthusiasm, imagination, and wonderfully sideways logic to Unequal Sequel.

In this episode, Will takes the boys on a delightfully unexpected journey through the sequels that have somehow left a mark on him — choices that may raise eyebrows, spark confused laughter, and prompt the occasional, “Really? That one?” But with Will’s charm, wit, and improvised brilliance, even the most surprising selections start to make a strange and joyful kind of sense.

As always, it’s funny, unpredictable, and unmistakably Unequal.

Let’s hit play with Will Sebag-Montefiore.

This week on Unequal Sequel, we're heading back to the hustling, bustling metropolis of mammals as we tackle Zootropolis 2 — a sequel that dares to ask the timeless question: What if society’s biggest problems could be solved by one rabbit with relentless optimism and one fox with chronic trust issues?

Join us as we dig into whether Disney’s long-awaited return to Judy and Nick’s buddy-cop world still has bite, or if this sequel has swapped sharp social commentary for shiny fur textures and corporate “be nice” messaging.

Expect heated debates, fox-based puns, and at least one passionate rant about sloths, sequels, and the dangers of over-anthropomorphising your emotional support animal.

Does Zootropolis 2 evolve the universe, or is it just another cute-but-clawed cash-in? Let’s find out—one unequal sequel at a time.

UNEQUAL SEQUEL - BONUS REVIEW EPISODE- NOW YOU SEE ME: NOW YOU DON'T ~

This week’s extra episode is shuffling the deck, cracking the vault, and pulling a few suspiciously shiny coins from behind your ear—because nothing in this franchise is ever quite what it seems.

Dave and Rich are going full misdirection mode for Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, the latest sleight-of-hand showdown in cinema’s flashiest magic caper series.

With new tricks, old grudges, and enough plot twists to make a card deck dizzy, can this sequel conjure real movie magic—or is it all just smoke, mirrors, and smug close-up shots?

We’re tracking illusionists, improbable heists, and sequels that think they’re cleverer than you to find out:
